As a sophomore in high school, Mary Ann’s mother was diagnosed with cancer and began a long fight for her life. For the next 2 years, the family prayed and did everything medically possible to save her, but by the time Mary Ann was a Senior, her mother was in Stage 4 cancer, and was sent home to die. It was then, that during one of her daily Bible studies, Mary Ann felt impressed by God that she was to attend a Christian University, and there she would become a television singer. Upon discussing this with her family, they were in total agreement, so Mary Ann left her family and began her studies at the University. Because of her obedience to God, the first week of school, Mary Ann was chosen to sing in the group that became the television singers, and her mother was miraculously healed! The doctor wrote on her chart, “It’s a Miracle”!! Her mother has never again had cancer, and is alive and well today because of the healing power of Jesus Christ. This experience powerfully impacted Mary Ann’s faith, and helped her to see that God sent Jesus to the earth to save us from our sins, and also to deliver us from our sicknesses and sorrows, according to Isaiah 53.
