| Gorgeous, It Definitely Grows On You
When I first purchased "Alice," it didn't really jump out at me -- I knew I loved the songs "Fish & Bird," "I'm Still Here," "Poor Edward," and "Tabletop Joe," but as a whole the album didn't grab me.

Alice is an incredible release. A must for any Tom Waits fan. Waits takes us on a dark dreamy journey.

| fine tuning 'till the bone
Waits has succeeded in fine-tuning the kind of musical lyrics he has patented although fine-tuning does not sound in compliance with the hoarse caracter of voice and music.

| Beautiful and disturbing.....
The first time I listened to ALICE I wasn't sure if I loved the album or hated it... it is such a mind-blowing, soul-twisting experience you need a few hours to recover from listening and then you decide... If your tastes run to the weird and intriguing, you cannot help but love this album even as parts of it strip you cold with Tom Waits' gravelly voice.
