2002 album for heavy metal act featuring Accept, vocalist Udo Dirkschneider. 11 tracks including, 'Private Eye', 'The Dawn Of The Gods' & 'Silent Cry'.
Udo: Udo Dirkshneider (vocals); Stefan Kaufmann, Igor Giandola (guitar); Fitty Wienhold (bass); Lorenzo Milani (drums). Additional personnel: Doro Pesch (vocals). Producers: Stefan Kaufmann, Udo Dirkschneider. Recorded at Roxx Studio, Pulheim, Germany between September 2001 and January 2002. U.D.O. is the first name of the lead singer of this outfit. Udo Dirkschneider is best known for his work with the metal band Accept and presents here a solo album featuring a band composed of himself, Igor Gianola, Stefan Kaufman, Fitty Weinhold, and Lorenzo Milani. The album certainly rocks out with the best of them and showcases Dirkschneider's unique vocal style. That vocal style is part of the problem with the album, though, as it really can take some getting used to. The other shortcoming here is that the band seems not to do such a good job on mellower material. They should stick to the harder-edged songs. Interestingly enough, when the group chooses to rock out, which is most of the time, the style is often far more in the vein of '80s Judas Priest than Accept. On that mellower side, there is one true ballad, a duet between Dirkschneider and Doro Pesch (of Warlock). That cut, "Dancing With an Angel," has its moments, but definitely gets a bit overblown. ~ Gary Hill
U D O Man And Machine Songs Man And Machine Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Great Album to be done live Well, it looks like UDO has done it again. This album is a very rocking album. The opening track of "Man And Machine" is a very brilliantly done album. All the tracks that are on here are songs that could be done live with no problems and done very well. The song contains a duet with fellow German singer, Doro Pesch, from Warlock. The song is a mellow song but very nicely done which could also be done live. The feel of the cd is that of classic metal, just like the past few UDO efforts. I can't think of what to say that could have been better done, so let me just talk about what is right with it. The production effort, done by Stefan Kauffman (guitarist and former bandmate from Accept) does what one might say as a superb job. The guitar work on this album is familiar to the olden days of Metal, none of that bassy feel, but those high pitched sounds. To me classic metal contains real guitar work, and there isn't too much of that left unless you get into the old school groups, and thanks to UDO, it is still around. If you are looking for old school sound with great lyrics with meaning that fits todays feel then this is a cd to have.

UDO - MAN AND MACHINE- VERY GOOD CD This is the first UDO CD I purchaced and it won't be the last. I listened to ACCEPT back in the 80s and I liked the band. I recently found out that the lead singer -UDO- had his own band now(actually for quite sometime). So I bought the latest release. This album is GREAT. It sounds just like the ACCEPT of old. This CD even has a duet with DORO (the lead singer from the 80s female metal band WARLOCK). Why they don't play this on the radio I'l never know. ****UDO Being a long-time Accept/UDO fan, I must say this album is a must have for any Dirkschneider fan or Heavy Metal enthusiast for that matter. Added Bonus is guest appearance with Doro Pesch, another one of my all-time favorite German Rockers. UDO, a metal genious and my metal god, Halford-both seem to (like fine wine) improve with age. If you wanna rock...buy this album-you won't be disappointed! Submitted by a reviewer ("Las Vegas, NV, USA") Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent updated NWOBHM music! This album is the best release from Udo/Accept since Balls To The Wall! Updated sound but still very heavy. This is what metal should be. Submitted by a reviewer (Savannah, Ga. USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
WHAT AN ALBUM!!! BUY IT I just went out and purchased this in the store and was concerned whether it was going to be as good as HOLY, and to my surprise it really is. All of the songwriting is by UDO and Stefan Kaufman, with additions from Fitty and Igor. The songs are very reminisent of the Accept days. It has a very good ACCEPT beat and tone with a great productions done by Stefan & Udo. If you are a fan of Accept and U.D.O.'s Holy album then this is a must have, so BUY IT!!!!!!! $9.89 Early Man: Mike Conte (vocals, guitar); Adam Bennati (drums). Early Man is a minimalist heavy metal duo (comprising drummer Adam Benatti and guitarist/singer Mike Conti) that worships at the altar of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and early Metallica. The sound is an undeniable throwback to the glory days of speed and doom metal, and Early Man does it right with righteous guitar riffs, pummeling drums, and wailing vocals. Interestingly, the face of metal has changed so much since its 1970s and '80s heyday that Early Man sounds sort of refreshing in the mid-2000s, offering up a wealth of sincere headbanging that is all the more appealing for its aspects of homage. Those who have held a Gibson SG in their hands, felt the warm buzz of an overdriven Peavy guitar combo amp breathing against the backs of their legs, and let loose with a windmill motion on the only chord they knew how to play will no doubt recognize ...
