Like Journey and Styx, REO Speedwagon was a '70s rock band that scored its biggest hits with radio-friendly rock and lovesick power ballads during the early '80s. Rock dudes could easily identify with guitarist Gary Richrath's crunchy power chords, while the girls could find solace in singer Kevin Cronin's delicate tales of the ups and downs of love.
On the 1988 compilation THE HITS, the best of REO Speedwagon's both worlds are featured--rocking standouts like "Ridin' the Storm Out" and "Roll with the Changes," as well as such softer fare as "Keep on Lovin' You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling." Although one of their biggest hits, "Keep the Fire Burnin'," is strangely absent, THE HITS is by and large a well-assembled collection of REO's biggest hits.
Additional personnel includes: Eric Persing (synthesizer, programming); Tommy Funderburk (background vocals).
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
Producers include: Keith Olsen, Kevin Cronin, Gary Richrath, Paul Grupp, Kevin Beamish.
Reissue producer: Al Quaglieri.

Takes me back to high school . . .
All their big 80's hits in one CD, it doesn't get any better than this . . . its one of those where I don't have to skip any song, I listen to the entire CD . . . love it!

reo speedwagon has alot of good songs on this cd. even though it was reissued this time newly remastered. it is better remixed then the old title. i would recommend this to any one. hear for yourself and enjoy the exsperience of great sound. the way it is meant to be.

with this album, I saw Reo Speedwagon in Mexico City in 1989 for The first Time, playin all this songs from the album named ¨HITS¨ it was a great and powerfull show. if you like Reo Speedwagon this CD should be in your collection. melodic but good album.

Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock.
