| | Los Prisioneros Antologia: Su Historia Y Sus Exitos CD Los Prisioneros Discography of CDs
Jorge Gonzalez, Claudio Narea, and Miguel Tapia formed the Chilean group Los Prisioneros in 1979. Their hard-hitting brand of politically charged rock and populist stance led them to become an important voice for Chilean youth. This two-CD set contains 36 of their greatest hits and spans their entire career. Of special interest to Los Prisioneros fans are the many remixes and unreleased tracks that are included ~ Tim Sendra
Recorded between 1984 & 1991.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Antologia: Su Historia Y Sus Exitos album
$18.39 Christmas was formed in 1969 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, out of the ashes of the cult underground psychedelic band Reign Ghost. In July 1970, Christmas released an independent self-titled debut that brought some media attention to the band and a contract with the Daffodil Records label. In December 1970, less than six months after the release of the debut, Christmas released their debut Daffodil Records album entitled Heritage. Christmas was comprised of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Bob Bryden, bass Tyler Raizenne, drummer Rich Richter, and Robert Bulger on guitars, all of whom were still in their teens. The album gathered good reviews and was well received by critics but it was not commercially viable because the long songs and hard rock sound. It became an instant ...

| | Adverts Live And Loud!! CD (1992)
Antologia: Su Historia Y Sus Exitos music CDs
$14.55 U.K. punk stalwarts The Adverts LIVE & LOUD offers 12 songs from their 1970's heyday, including the anthem "Gary Gilmore's Eyes."
Though somewhat muted thanks to the bootleg quality of the recording -- it sounds like an excellent walkman audience tape, but an audience tape nonetheless -- the vigor of the performance makes this the best live release of the Adverts so far and, thus, a release of note. No recording date is given, but from the set list it must be 1977 or very early 1978, as only the first of the Adverts' two LPs, Crossing the Red Sea With the Adverts, and their early singles' B-sides are performed. In fact, the immortal punk classic "One Chord Wonders" appears for the second time as an encore; likely they'd run out of songs after playing the first 12! So, unlike the way too early, first gigs Live at the Roxy (recorded in 1977 and released in 1990 on Receiver U.K.), Live and Loud!! catches the band in its prime and at the height of its emergence during the seminal London punk explosion. The band thus seems even more aggressive on the chord changes, fills, chording attack, and leads, without losing the primal savagery of Red Sea's renditions. Though lacking the enormous aural power of the just becoming fully realized Sex Pistols, Clash, Buzzcocks, and Damned, the Adverts' staying power came from the much-admired material and lyrical ideas that remain cutting edge, with just enough octane (and Laurie Driver's oddly unique 2/4 sped-up T. Rex drum pounding) to make it all slowly smoke and smolder anyway. Howard Pickup's guitar is particularly zooming, his simple, distorted vacuum-cleaner sound sustained through all the winning verses ...
