Benjamin Salisbury, Emannuel Logrono, Kurt Russell, Martin Short, Mary Kay Place, Meadow Sisto - Director: Thom Eberhardt Martin Harvey had the wonderful idea to bond his family and make a couple of bucks on the side. Together, they travel to the Caribbean to sail up the coast in a recently inherited yacht that Harvey hopes to sell. He didn't count on the obnoxious macho captain of the ship or seems to be a better man than Harvey is. A stressed out executive decides to get away from it all and take a cruise on his family's sail boat. Unfortunately the boat barely floats and comes equipped with one wild captain that takes them on a cruise they'll never forget. Shot in Technicolor.

I was prepared to dislike this movie. Kurt Russell won me over (as he did when I was an adolescent!) and while it had it's silly moments, it was worth watching. I actually laughed out loud...more than once!

Martin Short and Kurt Russell are a great comedy team in this movie. A must have for anyone who sails. Great old boat and scenery. Very sweet romantic family movie

My ultimate escapist fantasy.
Have you ever dreamed of getting away and having an exciting adventure? I know I have, often. Not only does this movie relate my own personal escapist fantasy, it is filled with the perfect cast. No one can play an inept but loveable hero like Martin Short. Mary Kay Place does a wonderful job as a harried "modern woman". A caring but distracted combination of career woman, mother, wife and interior decorator. I loved Kurt Russell as the totally charismatic but maddening Captain Ron. He was made for this part. His wonderful sense of comic timing as well as his boyish but sexy good looks just adds to the believability of his character. I can just imagine someone very like his rougish persona in any Carribean port. This is one of my favorite comedy adventures.

I enjoyed this movie. I like both Martin Short and Kurt Russell as actors. It was different in the sense that they changed positions. Kurt Russell was to offbeat comic and Martin Short the serious business person. Overall very enjoyable movie.

A Nice, Funny Movie
When I got a DVD player this was one of the first movies I wanted to get (I had to wait). Although there is some mature content it's generally a great movie for the family. There's some sexual innuendo, the younger kids won't get it and the older ones can see far worse on TV before 8PM.
There are a few movies which, once you've seen them, if you come across them channel surfing, that you simply can't not watch, and this is one of them. It's a very funny movie with positive themes.

Laura Branigan's third album capitalized on the Euro-dance-pop and affecting ballads that made her an international star while allowing her to grow as a vocalist. Her collections, always uneven in terms of material, benefit mostly from her stellar voice, and this is no exception."The Lucky One" and "Heart" start slow and build to a crescendo, perfectly showcasing her range without being obvious. The title track, about finding sex in the seamy side of town, sparked a bit of a controversy, but ended up being her second biggest hit. The song itself works, but Branigan was never a sex bomb, so the fact that she pulls it off is indicative of her power as a performer. "Ti Amo" is the album's theatrical ballad, which works well with breathy, dramatic vocals. She even pulls off a graceful cover of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" that is clear and simple, while "Breaking Out" and "Take Me" are perfect examples of synthesizer-driven '80s dance ditties. The only slow moments come with "Silent Partners" and "With Every Beat of My Heart," and that's not because they're ballads. The production bogs them down, and the lyrics are so pedestrian, you won't find yourself moved by them except to skip to the next song. ~ Bryan Buss
