Jesse James sings some of his vintage material from the 1970's thru 1990's, such hit tones as the original version of his first hit Believe In Me Baby/ part1&2, I Can Do Bad By Myself, At Last and If You Want A Love Affair. This is Versatility, volume one.
For an obscure American soul singer who can't even be classified as a one-hit wonder, this is a very optimistic import of his most significant recordings. 20th Century released an album by James in 1968, and an import, Looking Back, dropped in 1990. Many of the tracks from those two LPs can be found here. His thin voice makes many of the tracks sound similar; James is easier to take in small doses, a track here, a track there. However, a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes and some of the tracks are brilliant. On "I Never Meant to Love Her," even James' limited range couldn't screw up this smoldering deep soul ballad. Doo wop influences are evident on "I Call on You." Jesse excelled on mid-tempo numbers and Versatility has some choice ones: "I Don't Want It to End," "If You Want a Love Affair" and "You Ought to Be Here With Me." He duets with a female named Synethia on "You Were Doing Bad When I Met You," an answer song to "I Can Do Bad By Myself." Parts one and two of "Believe in Me Baby" are enjoyable, the song sounding like it was recorded in a small neighborhood bar with James holding court, singing and rapping to a girl about the merits of being his lady. Despite the good stuff, it's hard to recommend this to anyone except afficionados, collectors, relatives, and close friends of James. ~ Andrew Hamilton

Versatility album
$7.69 The big single on Cameosis, the stimulating "Shake Your Pants," provokes body moves from the animated group vocals to the rump-shakin' groove. The vivacious number "We're Going out Tonight" is a man's salute to his lady. Larry Blackmon and Tomi Jenkins sing in unison throughout the body of the song, with first tenor Wayne Cooper soaring in the vamp. The group puts a different twist on a remake of their own "Why Have I Lost You." Tomi Jenkins imparts a compassionate rap in ...

$12.65 BIO:b. Needles, California, USA. Brought up the youngest of three boys in a single parent household, it was clear that Sincere was a performer at heart. At the young age of four, he began singing and entertaining family members at family events. Just a few years later, he was entering oratorical contests displaying his love for poetry and the stage with back-to-back regional victories. In the years to follow, his family began moving around from state to state, never staying in one area for longer than two years. As a result of this, Sincere was not able to keep many friends, so he found friendship in a box, a boom box. In the sixth grade, he began playing the trumpet and gradually moved on to a variety of instruments including piano. He also joined his schools choir where he found his natural instrument, his voice. At the age of sixteen, Sincere left his household to return to his true home, Los Angeles, California. With no family in a new city, he turned to the streets for family acceptance. After facing constant opposition, Sincere realized that his current lifestyle was leading nowhere, so he separated himself from everyone in hopes of finding who he really was. During this time, he realized that with music was where he truly yearned to be and that through his music he could affect so many, and so the vision began. Determined to pursue his dream, in 2001 after a chance meeting with another artist, Sincere adopted his stage name as a result of his sincere love and dedication ...
