Power Ballads album
$16.09 When SONIC BOOM was released, it had been over a decade since the last Kiss studio album, so expectations were understandably high. In addition, the intervening period had seen the band fire two of its founding members for the second time, only to replace them with sidemen wearing Ace Frehley and Peter Criss's iconic makeup. Luckily, the new additions, unlike some of Kiss's "un-masked years" members, have a good feel for classic Kiss. That fact, matched with Paul Stanley's assumption of production duties, makes SONIC BOOM one of the most consistent and thoroughly Kiss-sounding ...

Power Ballads music CDs
$17.79 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********" or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic, ...

Power Ballads music CDs
$14.25 MAIDS & GOLDEN APPLES contains 2 LPs on 1 CD: A MAID OF CONSTANT SORROW (1961)/GOLDEN APPLES OF THE SUN (1962).
Digitally remastered by Alan Silverman (Arf! Lounge, New York, New York).
This two-fer from Elektra features a pair of LPs by folksinger Judy Collins, Maid of Constant Sorrow and Golden Apples of the Sun, originally issued 1961 and 1962, respectively. Highlights among the 24 tracks include several traditional folk songs, such as "Wild Mountain Thyme," "Tell Me Who I'll Marry," "John Riley," and "Bonnie Ship the Diamond." ~ Al Campbell
Listening to Judy Collins forceful rendering of folk ballads, circa 1961, floods the memory with smoky coffee houses and campus "hoots." Collins sang at the Golden Vanity in Boston and Gerde's Folk City in New York, along side blues' men like Dave Van Ronk. It was at this latter club that Jac Holzman of Elektra records informed Collins that it was time to record her debut. A few weeks later, she entered the studio with guitarist Fred Hellerman and Erik Darling from the Weavers and cut A Maid of Constant Sorrow. Unlike her later albums which included singer-songwriter ...

Power Ballads album
$13.15 Factor 6 starts out with the moody “my tribal home” arrangement that really sets the theme for the rest of the album with a mixture of compelling West African beats, sound beds and found sounds. The song moves quickly and creates images of primal worship and longing. Domination is a musical battering ...

Power Ballads songs
$11.45 A whole four years after their last release (003's Secret Alphabets) left curious listeners intrigued and somewhat confused, here comes Sweden's Greenleaf -- the sometime side project that won't die, but sure takes its sweet-ass time to come on back -- with another collection of stoner and classic rock action titled Agents of Ahriman. Here again, the group seems to feature as many "core" musicians (most notably Dozer guitarist Tommi Holappa) as invited guests (including members of Lowrider and Truckfighters), and this goes some way towards explaining both the loosely arranged, almost improvisational feel to many of their fuzz rock explorations as well as the vast array of retro-rock styles visited from start to finish. To wit, give Agents of Ahriman just a cursory glance, and you'll identify several shades of Deep Purple and lunar phases of Steppenwolf ("Black Tar," "The Lake"); Ozzy vocal imitations ("Highway Officer") and screaming Monster Magnet intensity ("Ride ...
| | Fifty Habit Two Year Flu CD (2007)
Power Ballads album
$12.69 MUST HEAR THIS BAND!!!!! Original hard rock band with soulful vocals, aggressive bass, and in your face drumming. Hearing is believing and they're EVEN BETTER LIVE!!!!Fifty Habit is a creation born from love of music and need for release. The Major separation between Fifty Habit and other upcoming groups is HEART. When you listen to the lyrics you will realize that this is not pre-pubescent whining about high school heartache or parents who just don't understand. What you will hear is an emotional read on real issues like war, drug addiction, religion and poverty. Avery possesses a unique mind-grabbing tone in his voice, with a stong sense of purpose and urgency. Jimmy uses his drums as more of a weapon than an instrument and beats you in the head with ground-pounding fills accentuating every word and every note with a beat that begs to be felt. JD, a veteran of the rock scene and music business, completes the equation by rounding out the band's sound with articulate, punchy, and driving bass lines making Fifty Habit the three-piece powerhouse they are. Avery draws on his past when writing music. He chose the dark path of addiction and self deprecation, spiraling him into a world of jails and rehabs lingering on depression and angst. He has been sober now for two years and he uses music as a way to bury the past and come to terms with life. His influences include Tool, Alice in Chains, a Perfect Circle, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Seether and Chevelle, among others.Jimmy's drumming has defined the sound of Fifty Habit much the same way a hit single would...people remember it. Jimmy's drums command feet to tap and heads to bop. Jimmy, 17, has been playing the drums for many years and has set the bar for ...

Power Ballads CD music
$56.79 Released during late 2006 in honor of the Doors' 40th anniversary, PERCEPTION is a six-CD/six-DVD box set that not only features all of the legendary Los Angeles rock band's classic albums, but includes rare recordings and video footage on companion bonus discs. Boasting newly remastered sound, the compilation traces the arc of the group's years fronted by the brooding, mercurial Jim Morrison, an undeniably charismatic and compelling performer who boldly announced the arrival of the band on its thrilling first single "Break On Through (To The Other Side)," and later heralded the act's demise on the haunting "Riders on the Storm." In between, the set features other outstanding Doors tracks such as the macabre "People Are Strange," the trippy "Hello, I Love You," the glitter-and-velvet pop tune "Touch Me," and the raucous "Roadhouse Blues," which all showcase Morrison's deep, resonant voice and the rest ...
