The classic Marley album, the one that any fair-weather reggae fan owns, Legend contains 14 of his greatest songs, running the gamut from "I Shot the Sheriff" to the meditative "Redemption Song" and the irrepressible "Three Little Birds." Some may argue that the compilation shortchanges his groundbreaking early ska work or his status as a political commentator, but this isn't meant to be definitive, it's meant to be an introduction, sampling the very best of his work. And it does that remarkably well, offering all of his genre-defying greats and an illustration of his excellence, warmth, and humanity. In a way, it is perfect since it gives a doubter or casual fan anything they could want. Let's face it, the beauty and simplicity of Marley's music was as important as his message, and that's captured particularly well here. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine There are few musicians whose music has indisputably advanced humanity. Reggae figurehead Bob Marley--a songwriter, poet, activist, and visionary--is one of them. The idea that a single-disc collection could represent the depth, breadth, and power of Marley's achievement is far-fetched, but LEGEND makes an excellent attempt. Every single one of its tracks is outstanding, and the artist's different faces--revolutionary ("Get Up Stand Up"), romantic ("Is This Love"), devout Rastafarian ("Buffalo Soldier"), and prophet ("One Love/People Get ReadyRolling Stone (12/11/03, p.110) - Ranked #46 in Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time" - "...It is a superlative beginning - but only the tip of his genius..." Legendary This album shows what can happen when you cross incredible talent with divine inspiration. Bob may have been a prophet, healer, singer, songwriter, performer, artist, rasta. Regardless of the many hats he's worn, the world indeed owes his a great debt that can only be repaid one way: by granting his request of "One love". Bob is a Legend!!! My sister and I saw Bob at one of his last concerts, I think it was his last performance. I was simply amazed at the variety of people that loved Bod Marley. I saw people from all walks of life and I thought Wow! What a legend. He spoke to so many people through his music. He was truly loved. My favorites are: "One Love" "I shot the sheriff" and "No woman No Cry" His music made you think of all the hard times that you go through in life. The struggle is not yours alone. Thanks, Bod you left something for all of us to remember. We are in this together! Submitted by Dorothy ("Wilmette, IL, USA") Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 3 found this helpful.

That version is now out of print, and has been replaced by this one, on the Experience Hendrix label, which features remastered versions of the same 17 songs, this time in the order they appeared on the original American LP, with the extra tracks added to the end (a separate version ...

| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Legend
$6.39 The Corrs: Jim Corr (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Sharon Corr (vocals, violin); Andrea Corr (vocals, tin whistle); Caroline Corr (vocals, drums, bodhran, percussion). Recorded at Ardmore Studios in Dublin, Ireland in January 2002. You knew the Corrs had made it when they played the final JFK Awards ceremony of the Clinton administration. Playing it would have been achievement enough, but their status as a happening thing was cemented at the end of the ceremony, during the encores, when everybody was taking their final bows. Bill moseyed up over to Andrea, put his arm around her, and when she was looking away, sized her up -- at precisely the same moment Chuck Berry was checking her out. If that doesn't mean that you've broken ...

| | Kenny G Moment CD (1996)
Legend
$8.99 Personnel includes: Kenny G (soprano, alto & tenor saxophones, various instruments); Babyface (vocals, programming); Toni Braxton (vocals); Walter Afanasieff (various instruments); Michael Thompson (guitar); Greg Phillinganes (piano); Dan Shea (keyboards, programming); Nathan East (bass); Paulinho De Costa, Sheila E. (percussion); Marc Nelson, Dede O'Neal (background vocals). Producers: Kenny G, Babyface, Walter Afanasieff. Engineers include: Steve Shepherd, Brad Gilderman, Dana Jon Chappelle. "Havana" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. Although The Moment followed four years after Kenny G's blockbuster Breathless, the saxophonist didn't change his approach at all during his time off. Kenny G remains a sweet, melodic instrumentalist, who works entirely in lush, slick adult contemporary pop settings. His playing has improved somewhat in those four years -- he soars and dives with effortless skill, and his vibrato remains fleet and elegant -- yet after The Moment is finished, you wish that he had tried some new musical territories. ...

Legend
$9.59 After learning some chords on the guitar, Justin began to write his own songs. "I am drawn to country and bluegrass because of its realism. There is energy above and beyond the notes that one hears, which allows me to sing from my heart and to express myself in ways that relate to people everywhere." He writes a unique style of country music that demonstrates a mastery of many of the different forms comprising both the traditional and contemporary "country sound".Justin has since played different venues and songwriter nights around town and has collaborated on new songs. He has released his second album on September 5, 2003, titled a hint of bluegrass. This album ...
