| | Lil Romeo Romeoland CD (2004)
Lil' Bow Wow - Take Ya Home review
$14.65 Live Recording
Personnel: Lil' Romeo (rap vocals); Lil-D, Master P, Tata, Intyana, Rich Boyz, Hercy (rap vocals). Photographers: Tim Alexander ; Ken Hollis. While New No Limit seems unable to recapture the excitement of the old days with their more gangsta releases, Master P and his label hit pay dirt every time they release something (CD, single, television show) by Lil' Romeo. As executive producer, Master P seems to be giving Lil' Romeo (his son if you aren't hip) the most attention and care out of any the New No Limit artists, and Romeoland is nothing if not well crafted. It's an inoffensive kids album for sure, but at 14 tracks it's not overstuffed and the bright beats are definitely fresh. You can thank producers Myke Diesel and Nick Cannon for that. They are two of New No Limit's brightest talents and the men behind all of Romeoland's highlights. Cannon's high point is the bubbly single "My Cinderella," which coolly interpolates Shai's "If I Ever Fall in Love." Diesel's "My Girlfriend" is the catchiest number ...

| | Bow Wow Wanted CD (2005) DualDisc
Lil' Bow Wow - Take Ya Home movie DVD
$16.69 This dualdisc include his entire fourth Sony album release in enhanced LPCM stereo featuring artists Omarion, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, T. Waters, JD, and J'Kwon, plus Bow Wow's biggest fans, and 2 music videos. Do You, Let Me Hold You (featuring Omarion), Caviar (featuring Snoop Dogg), Like You (featuring Ciara), Mo Money (featuring T. Waters), Do What It Do, Is That You (P.Y.T.), Go (featuring JD), Fresh Az Im Iz (featuring J'Kwon), Like You (special edition featuring Ciara), Let Me Hold You (interactive video featuring Omiarion MX).
This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other. Personnel: Bow Wow (rap vocals); Omarion, Ciara (vocals); J-Kwon, Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dogg, T. Waters (rap vocals). Bow Wow comes back to the house of Jermaine Dupri for Wanted, an album that's solid but not stunning. With Dupri in the producer's chair for every song save one, Wanted is a So So Def release in every way but officially. There's that good old partying and swaggering that made So So Def great, but little of the glitz. For a rapper not known for ...
| | Buddy Guy Skin Deep CD (2008)
Lil' Bow Wow - Take Ya Home video
$11.29 Personnel: Susan Tedeschi (vocals); Quinn Sullivan, David Grissom (guitar); Derek Trucks (slide guitar); Lannie McMIllian, Kirk Smothers (tenor saxophone); James L. Spake (baritone saxophone); Mark Franklin (trumpet); Reese Wynans (keyboards); Willie Weeks (bass guitar); Tom Hambridge (drums, tambourine, percussion); Wendy Moten, Bekka Bramlett (hand claps, background vocals). By the time SKIN DEEP was released in 2008, Buddy Guy was in his early 70s. The thing is, there are only a few tell-tale signs that Guy has aged any since his blistering work from the 1960s and `70s, and these signs-which include the slick, contemporary production, and the veteran-performer trend of having a parade of guest artists on the album-- are largely superficial. In truth, Guy still plays and sings like the urban blues monster he remains. From the slinky, sexy opener, ...

Black Eyed Peas, the hip-hop crossover juggernaut that propelled singer Fergie and producer Will.I.Am to superstardom, have, since 2003's ELEPHUNK, been audaciously plugging away at their bombastic but lighthearted style of rap-cum-dance pop--an effort that has translated to a run of successful chart-topping singles including "My Humps," "Pump It," and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." Eager to follow up on the ...
