Chris Farley, David Spade, Gary Busey, Tim Matheson - Director: Penelope Spheeris When politicians run for office, their biggest problems are usually a skeleton in the closet, or their controversial stance on an issue. But gubernatorial candidate Al Donnelly's greatest dilemma is his oafish, clumsy, stupid brother Mike, who has an uncanny knack for creating havoc everywhere he goes. And to Al's dismay, his opponent and her staff are also well aware of Mike's "gift," and intend to exploit it for what it's worth. As a result, one of the candidate's aides is assigned to keep Mike in check -- with disastrous results.
Things get even worse when the incumbent's team frames Mike for setting a fire in a recreation center. Will Mike inadvertently destroy his brother's political career? Chris Farley stars as Mike Donnelly, the doltish younger brother of a gubernatorial candidate (Tim Matheson). Mike can't seem to stay out of trouble, thus potentially endangering his brother's chance at winning the election, so campaign aide Steve Dodds (David Spade) is assigned to chaperone him until the election is over. Not realizing that he is biting off more than he can chew, Steve takes Mike to the wilderness of Washington state, where the two men are ill-equipped to deal with the difficulties that nature throws their way. Penelope Spheeris (WAYNE'S WORLD) directs this slapstick comedy, which reunites the successful team from 1995's TOMMY BOY. Released theatrically in the USA February 2, 1996. The film grossed $32 million domestically.

| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Black Sheep video
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing.
Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major role. He provides scorching solos, lush textures and juicy fills with a muscular tone and minimal effects--the perfect complements to Osbourne's songwriting.
But more important than the raging guitars and the big sound is attitude. Ozzy's spunk has indeed rejected retirement. His songs still spew biting commentary at whoever will listen. "Your bulls**t culture licking can't stop the deathwatch ticking/You're only mortal ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne The Ozzman Cometh CD (2002)
Black Sheep film
$9.69 THE OZZMAN COMETH is a single CD collection of hits, previously unavailable recordings and one new track. Previously included a limited edition second disc containing 2 of the 4 previously unavailable recordings as well as an interview with Ozzy Osbourne.
As if we needed another reason to believe that Ozzy Osbourne is God, along comes THE OZZMAN COMETH, a double CD retrospective of one of the most enduring and influential figures in heavy metal. Consisting mostly of his post-Black Sabbath solo work as well as a live version of "Paranoid," this collection's biggest asset is the so-called "basement tapes," never-before-heard rehearsal tapes of four classic Sabbath songs. Dating back to 1970, "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs" are the songs that transformed a petty thief from Birmingham, England into the godfather of heavy metal.
But if Sabbath cemented his place in the rock 'n' roll canon, his solo work raised him to legendary status. Working with former Quiet Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads, Osbourne set the tone for the 80's metal revival with songs like "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley." Capping off the collection is a seventeen minute interview with Ozzy from 1988, where he speaks frankly about the ups and ...

Black Sheep DVD
$11.79 Richard Gere gives one of the best performances of his career in Lasse Hallström's vastly entertaining THE HOAX, based on true events. Gere stars as Clifford Irving, a struggling writer desperate to be a famous bestselling author. After his novel gets rejected, he concocts a crazy plot in which he convinces McGraw-Hill that he has been contacted by Howard Hughes in order to tell the official life story of the reclusive billionaire. With the help of his friend, nervous writer Dick Suskind (Alfred Molina), and Irving's artist wife, Edith (Marcia Gay Harden), he attempts to get away with one of the greatest literary hoaxes of the 20th century. He goes to elaborate lengths to pull the wool over the eyes of his editor, Andrea Tate (Hope Davis), as well as his publisher, Shelton Fisher (Stanley Tucci), and the managing editor of Life magazine, Ralph Graves (Zeljko Ivanek), who is offering big bucks to serialize the book. As Irving gets deeper and deeper into the lies, he begins to embody Hughes, mimicking the way he looks and talks. The film features excellent performances all around, including star turns by Eli Wallach as longtime Hughes employee Noah Dietrich (a part played by John C. Reilly in Martin Scorsese's THE AVIATOR) and Julie Delpy as Nina Van Pallandt, a former flame of Irving's whom he can't shake ...
