I Think of You: The Complete Recordings album for sale Product Description

I Think of You: The Complete Recordings album for sale by Merseybeats was released May 07, 2002 on the Bear Family label. All 31 songs the Merseybeats ever recorded manage to fit on this single-CD compilation. That includes the A-sides and B-sides of all eight of their 1963-1965 singles, all of the tracks from their sole album that weren't on 45s, the songs from their 1964 On Stage EP (none of which made it onto any other format at the time), and even German versions of "I Think of You" and "It's Love That Really Counts." That doesn't leave much to complain about. I Think of You: The Complete Recordings CD music contains a single disc with 31 songs.   ...See Full Description

I Think of You: The Complete Recordings album for sale Includes both stereo and mono versions of the USA-only albums MEET THE BEATLES (1964), THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM (1964), SOMETHING NEW (1964), and BEATLES '65 (1964), and a 60 page booklet including rare photos and select quotes from John, Paul, George and Ringo. All tracks have been digitally mastered using 24-bit technology. Although America wasn't the first to catch on to the Beatles, it certainly gave the Fabs a worldwide stage from which to launch their pop music invasion. During the space of 12 months in 1964, Capitol released four Beatles LPs that reshuffled various British Parlophone LPs, EPs, and singles. The result of this rejiggering was four unique titles that, along with those famed Ed Sullivan performances, were the introduction to this global phenomenon for millions in the United States. For the 40th anniversary of these releases, this 2004 set represents the first time these titles were ever available on CD, and features both mono and stereo (or "duophonic") versions of all the songs. Because of the Beatles' enthusiasm, high standards, and synergy, these evergreen tracks crackle and burn, guaranteeing giddy, joyous memories for some, while also enlisting new fans. Among the many classics are the groundbreaking single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand," and other romantic rockers ("I Saw Her Standing There," "She Loves You," "All My Loving"), as well as cover tunes ("Long Tall Sally," "Roll Over Beethoven") and lesser-known songs ("Any Time at All," "I'll Follow the Sun"). The boys had been tirelessly working the nightclub trenches for a number of years prior to these albums, but, in truth, John, Paul, George, and Ringo were just getting started. 4cds-Meet The Beatles/Second Album/Something New/Beatles'65 The Beatles: John Lennon (guitar); Paul McCartney (bass guitar); Ringo Starr, George Harrison. I Think of You: The Complete Recordings CD music If all you know about Herman's Hermits is that they had a couple of semi-novelty hits during the British Invasion with "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter" and "I'm Henry the VIII, I Am," RETROSPECTIVE aims to set you straight. Part of ABKCO producers Teri Landi and Jody Klein's grand plan to redress the balance of historical perspective on 1960s pop, this collection is a perfect overview of the band initially regarded as a safer version of the Beatles. While amiable, sunny pop is the dominant strain here, there are many tracks that further flesh out the group's profile. A version of Sam Cooke's "(What a) Wonderful World" points up the Hermits' soul leanings. The downright nasty "A Must to Avoid" and the witty, rocking "Museum" would sound right at home on a contemporaneous Beatles album. The Hermits' version of the Kinks' "Dandy" displays hipper tastes than many give Peter Noone and company credit for, and RETROSPECTIVE itself calls out for a 21st-century reappraisal of the band's catalog. I Think of You: The Complete Recordings buy CD music Though most people remember ? & the Mysterians solely for their one enduring hit, "96 Tears," the frat-band staple that mixed garage rock with Tex-Mex via a monomaniacal organ riff, they actually laid down plenty of other memorable tracks in their initial lifespan. Most, including the original version of their hit, were, incredibly, unavailable on CD for decades making this 2005 reissue of the band's Cameo-Parkway sides something of a monumental occasion for garage rock collectors. The Mysterians are in their prime here ably mixing blues, soul, and teeth-baring rockers with rough-and-ready aplomb, and the inclusion of a few never-before-heard tracks (including an alternate version of "96 Tears") makes this sharply assembled anthology an absolute must for fans of the genre. I Think of You: The Complete Recordings songs The remastered DISRAELI GEARS is also available in its entirety on the 4 disc set THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Recorded in the U.S. in a three-and-a-half day flurry of inspired activity before the band members' visas expired, DISRAELI GEARS continued to present the legendary, unprecedented rock power-trio acrobatics pioneered by Cream on their debut FRESH CREAM. The acronymic "SWLABR (She Walked Like a Bearded Rainbow)" for instance, featured some of the band's most fiery instrumental interplay. The album, with its eye-catching day-glo cover, was produced by Felix Pappalardi (who went on to co-found the Cream-inspired Mountain) and once again featured collaborations between singer/bassist Jack Bruce and lyric poet Pete Brown. The Top Five hit "Sunshine Of Your Love," however, was written by Brown and Eric Clapton. That iconic riff-rocker, along with the slinky, bluesy "Strange Brew," and the mythographic, wah-wah stomper "Tales of Brave Ulysses" was a staple of rock radio forever after, making DISRAELI GEARS one of the seminal '60s rock albums. Despite the good humor suggested by the jokey a capella reading of "Mother's Lament," however, all was far from peace and love in the Cream camp at the time, as internal and external pressures broke up the band by the end of 1968. Additional Tracks; Deluxe Edition Recorded at Atlantic Studios, New York, New York in May 1967. Decca Stereo Anthology CD (2002) 5 stars
CD $28.75 Buy It  Details
I Think of You: The Complete Recordings CD music The tracks on this collection were remixed in stereo from the original four-track session masters. Includes four previously unissued, work-in-progress backing tracks and snippets of studio chatter. There were a bunch of Zombies reissues in the 1990s and early 2000s, including a Zombies box set, Zombie Heaven, that seemed to gather just about everything conceivable recorded by the group. So how exactly does this two-CD, 48-song compilation of their 1964-1966 Decca sessions fit into the pecking order? Well, if you have the box set, it's for the fanatics, since most of these tracks also appear on that box. The crucial difference, though, is that these have been newly remixed for stereo. That's not a trifling distinction, since many of these songs have never been previously available in stereo (though it would have been nice if the otherwise admirably detailed liner notes made it clear which ones fall into that category). And you do get a little bit in the way of extras that haven't been previously available, in the form of backing tracks for "Leave Me Be," "Work n' Play," "Just out of Reach," and "Whenever You're Ready," as well as some bits and pieces of false starts to some of the tracks, though it would take a mighty dedicated Zombies specialist to figure out which such false starts might have previously appeared on other releases. On just two tracks, there's a little bit of 2002 overdubbing that might miff purists -- original Zombies drummer Hugh Grundy put an overdub on "She's Not There" to simulate the drum overdub that was used in the mono mix, as he did with a tambourine for "Is This the Dream." Keep in mind, though, that the mono mixes of those songs are available elsewhere (on Zombie Heaven, for instance, on the same label), so it's not as if any irreparable changes have been enacted. As for the music itself -- something that might get overlooked given the extremely specialized approach of this anthology -- it really is great, in remixed stereo as it is here, or in mono. For audiophiles and obsessives, these do give you the chance to hear this in conscientiously mixed stereo. But even if this is the only Zombies anthology you get, it's an excellent collection on its own terms, including all of their varied and wonderful singles and numerous non-single tracks recorded prior to 1967, showing them as one of the most melodically inventive rock bands ever. Note, however, that it has nothing recorded after 1966, which means there's no "Time of the Season" and nothing from their acclaimed Odessey & Oracle album. ~ Richie Unterberger This 2-CD set presents The Zombie's entire recorded output during their tenure at Decca from 1964-66 (outtakes and all) presented in fresh, crisp stereo mixes. The band and their producer Ken Jones never mixed any of their Decca sides for stereo. After t Recorded between 1964 and 1966. All tracks have been 24 bit digitally remastered. Personnel: Rod Argent (vocals, harmonica, piano, electric piano, keyboards); Chris White (vocals, bass guitar); Colin Blunstone (vocals, percussion); Paul Atkinson (guitar, acoustic guitar); Ken Jones (piano, percussion); Hugh Grundy (drums, percussion).
