Leap Of Faith album
$16.05 Celtic Woman, initially a one-shot collaboration by six leading Irish vocalists for a 2004 PBS special, struck a chord of adoration for the Emerald Isle, a fancy affecting both sides of the Atlantic, and swiftly became a permanent collective. THE GREATEST JOURNEY captures many of the best moments of elegant harmonizing by the act, from their serene and rapturous take on Enya's "Orinoco Flow" to the mournful yet poppily uplifting indigenous folk of "You Raise Me Up."
Import pressing includes two bonus tracks, Mo Ghile Mear (Live From Slane Castle) and Spanish Lady (Live From Slane Castle). Since their beginning in 2005, Irish vocal phenomenon Celtic Woman have sold 4 million units worldwide and occupied the #1 spot on the Billboard World Music Chart for a record-breaking 90 consecutive weeks. The Greatest Journey: Essential Collection represents the band's first Best Of collection and includes four new songs ('The Call', 'Pie Jesu', 'Ave Maria' and 'You Raise Me Up') as well as two songs ...
| | Dead Can Dance/Garden Of The Arcane Delight CD (1984) Reissue; Special Edition; Extended Play
Leap Of Faith CD music
$11.99 On the evidence of this, the band's first record, Dead Can Dance can clearly be seen as a "Goth" group in the vein of Bauhaus, et al. The band's sound here is much more clearly based in the "contemporary"--Dead Can Dance uses traditional song structures, the group's instrumentation is almost entirely synthesized, and co-vocalist Lisa Gerrard's voice rarely gets into the truly ethereal, other-worldly realms that it would on later albums. Perhaps the most surprising single song on the album is "East of Eden." Built on a picked (and heavily echoed) guitar line and a rolling drum pattern, it is probably the only track in the DCD catalogue that can be described as relentlessly perky.
Standouts include "The Fatal Impact," which boasts a crystal-clear guitar sound, a scaling base line, and tribal chanting; "Wild in the Woods," ...

Leap Of Faith songs
$9.15 Also available as part of the Delta 2-CD set THE BEST OF EDITH PIAF.
A very strong best-of collection, VOICE OF THE SPARROW's title is a reference to Edith Piaf's widely used moniker "the Little Sparrow." And it's an apt moniker at that: Piaf was petite, and--in a life filled with tragedy--seemingly vulnerable, yet her song was strong and assured, transcending nations and time. With her heavy vibrato, pure tone, and emotionally intense delivery, Piaf would influence nearly every French chansonnier who followed in her wake

| | Azam Ali Portals Of Grace CD (2002)
Leap Of Faith CD music
$11.69 Having made her name as the ethereal vocalist of Vas, Azam Ali ventures forth with this shimmering solo debut. Openly influenced by Hildegard von Bingen, PORTALS OF GRACE continues Ali's long relationship with the music and stories of medieval Europe, drawing from Sephardic, Breton, and Latin sources, to name a few.
The opener, "Lasse Pour Quois," recounts the heartbreak of a 14th-century French member of a little-known order of female troubadours who roamed the continent. "O Quanta Qualia," written by the poet-heretic Peter Abelard, is apparently the only surviving composition from a hymn book he wrote for Heloise, whose father had Abelard castrated.

$11.49 MUSIC FOR THE HOLIDAYS. 7 CLASSIC CHRISTMAS SONGS WITH A FLAMENCO/SMOOTH JAZZ TWIST. 3 ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS."...rivals or exceeds some of the more well known artists of this genre" - Rico, Amazon Top 500 Review Artist Profile - The Tomas Michaud StoryMost guitarists in the Flamenco influenced genre today seem more interested with finger pyrotechnics and how many notes can fit into a musical passage than in communicating on a deep emotional level with their listener. Though technical proficiency is not in short supply, Tomas Michaud is clearly a different kind of guitarist. While creating his own blend of Smooth Jazz and Flamenco guitar with subtle twists of Latin American grooves and Middle Eastern Percussion, Tomas weaves a melodic, almost vocal, tapestry with his guitar that, if one listens carefully, can breath beauty and sacredness into even the most mundane events of daily life. There's a kind of mystical yet practical spirituality to his music that has the effect of both calming and energizing. Tomas creates music that is exotic with a lingering sense of the familiar. Perhaps it's his ability to meld the sights and sounds of his travels to far away places with his upbringing in the American pop culture. He writes the kind of songs that creates images of places you'd like to be often - even if only in your imagination. His influences are such diverse music talents as Santana, who communicates profound beauty in the way he plays even a few notes, and the Gipsy Kings, who are masters at creating songs which take the listener on a romantic, exotic adventure. In his new album," New World Flamenco Jazz", songs such as "Seville" not only take you on a musical imagery filled trip to Seville, Spain where he composed the song, but brings us face to face with the mysterious and somewhat magical force that delivers ideas and realizations in our dreams while we sleep. Inspired by a dream, one can't help but wonder where a powerful and evocative melody like this comes from. From beginning to end of this CD Tomas puts forth a musical calling for embracing and being grateful for who we are, for being alive and believing in ourselves and for appreciating both the uniqueness and the common elements we share as different cultures and one humanity. An example of this can be experienced by listening ...
