(17 Customer Reviews)
With a back-to-the-streets, grassroots approach, rapper Talib Kwali and producer Hi-Tek have constructed a simple, pure hip-hop album. Their formula is simple: hot banging beats with novel samples, combined with slick, stylish street corner rhymes.
Joined by a who's who of hip-hop like De La Soul ("Soul Rebels"), Mos Def ("This Means You"), and Kool G Rap ("Ghetto Afterlife"), REFLECTION ETERNAL is packed with everything a hip-hop fan could want. A notable cut is "Down For the Count," which features Rah Digga, Xzibit and a cameo from boxing champion Lennox Lewis, here performing in something of a different style to his showbiz colleague Oscar De La Hoya. If you're looking for pure hip-hop, REFLECTION ETERNAL is for you.

His lyrics are real and they are smoothe. I love that he has his own style and doesnt bite off other rappers which is what most people seem to do these days. he should be an inspiration to everyone in hip hop and they should look up to him. Talib kweli is brilliant!

Introspective Masterpiece Few men walk this earth that can define a whole culture and way of life in an hour. Talib is a lyrical genius that advances hip hop from the 'rap' you hear on the radio to a true art. Buy this record and keep your mind open and you will a learn a thing or two about what hip hop truly is. Submitted by nhredskins56 (Bronx, New York) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Phenominal Unfortunately, there are few emcees in the game....only "rappers", and there is a difference. Emcees are lyracists that take your mind on a journey...rappers just put words together. Talib Kweli is an emcee!!! He has several fantastic albums, both solo and duet (Blackstar....whoa!!! FIRE!). But this, to me, is his definitive album. One not to be missed by a Hip-Hopper!! NOT ONE TRACK IS A FILLER!!!!! The whole album is straight heat from track to track!! I don't know what the Source gave this album when it was initially released, but this is definitely a 5-Mic classic. Cop it!! Considered by critics to be one of hip-hop's most skilled lyricists, Common has yet to receive the mainstream attention he deserves. But LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE, his fourth album, is likely to change that. While positive lyrics and musical uniqueness have always been Common's forte, this MCA Records' debut presented feel-good hip-hop at a time when the genre's most successful artists were concerned with materialism and party-friendly production. Most of the beats on LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE are provided by Jaydee of the Ummah, a producer who helped shape the latter sound of A Tribe Called ...

$11.49 After listening to this album, one hopes that the duo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli (both respected individual artists in their own right) would make this unification thing a permanent deal. In the wake of the disbanding of A Tribe Called Quest, hip-hop needs more efforts like the one put forth by these two. A well-crafted piece of work, with an infusion of concepts ...
