| | Associates Glamour Chase/Perhaps CD - Import Associates Discography of CDs
This two-CD set gathers two albums by British goth-pop duo the Associates, THE GLAMOUR CHASE and PERHAPS.
In 2002, WEA International released Glamour Chase/Perhaps, which contained two albums -- the previously unreleased Glamour Chase and Perhaps (1985, originally on WEA) -- by the Associates on one compact disc. ~ Tim Sendra
'Glamour Chase' is the great 'lost' album from the Associates. Much sought after on bootleg by fans, the album is presented here remastered & coupled with the last official release, 'Perhaps' (1985). Glamour Chase/Perhaps Music Associates Glamour Chase/Perhaps Songs | 1. | Reach the Top |

Glamour Chase/Perhaps album
$7.75 Alejandro Fernandez already had one ranchera classic under his belt -- his exceptional debut album -- when Que Seas Muy Feliz came out. But this was the record where everything came together. The inherent elegance of Fernandez's voice was matched with the most distinctive songs and arrangements of his career to date, along with the warm, enveloping mix of strings and distant trumpets, the signature of omnipresent producer Pedro Ramírez who, ...

| | Adam Lambert For Your Entertainment CD (2009)
Glamour Chase/Perhaps songs
$11.18 With Adam Lambert, American Idol finally got a finalist who was completely, utterly contemporary, aware of what's hip in music and culture and aware of how music is made and consumed in 2009, never seeming to try to follow fads or set trends, just embodying the time. Mercifully, he came in second to Kris Allen, for if he came in first he may have had to tame his self-styled glamazon ways. A second place finish allowed Lambert to come out of the closet and indulge in his penchant for theater on his debut, For Your Entertainment -- which isn't quite the same thing as camp, for if Adam Lambert is anything, he's earnest about his dress-up, never winking at the audience because he doesn't think there's much funny about his glitter and mascara: that's just what pop stars are supposed to do. He's learned that by listening to his stacks of Queen and Bowie records, from watching old MTV videos on YouTube, from living in a present that always competes with the ...

Glamour Chase/Perhaps songs
$8.79 After making a career performing sweet pop music disguising acerbic lyrical sniping, with their seventh album the Beautiful South find themselves in a more uptempo and even grown-up mood than their last record. Reining in their lyrics more than previously, a move that allows them to incorporate metaphors without the funny, snarky subtexts that they often carry, the band have created their most mature album to date. The album is also notable for Norman Cook's appearance ...

| | Supergroupies CD (2005) (Import) Bonus Track
Glamour Chase/Perhaps CD music
$42.05 After one listen to Supergroupies' self-titled debut record, you might start taking down some posters on your bedroom wall to make room for their glammy faces. The bandmembers hail from Sweden, deck themselves out in makeup, sport matching platinum blond feather cuts, and even rock the occasional feather boa. But all fears of a hair metal revival are quashed by the opening notes of the album's opener, "Give It All You Got," which rocks hard but in the power pop manner of vintage Redd Kross, not Poison. To that end, the band is definitely more Sweet than Kiss, more Hanna-Barbera than Headbangers Ball, more bubblegum than Jack Daniels. About the only recent group to have anything truly in common with Supergroupies is Tsar (the Tsar of their debut album, that is, not the punks of Band-Girls-Money) and maybe, in a stretch, the Darkness. The album is a nonstop blitz of hooks, huge choruses, flashy guitar solos, handclaps, and endearingly silly lyrics. Kim Simon has a perfectly brash teenage croon, the production is glossy but packs a real punch, and the band's energy never flags. The high ...
| | Les Savy Fav 3/5 CD (1997)
Glamour Chase/Perhaps music CDs
$10.45 Originally released in 1999, Les Savy Fav's debut was reissued on the band's own French Kiss label in 2006. In that seven years the band had grown considerably, both artistically and in terms of popularity, but 3/5 still packs a wicked punch.
Teeming with the spirit of youthful aggression, the Les Savy Fav of 3/5 are all angular rhythms; grinding, inside-out guitars; and spoke-sung vocals with clear debts to both the Fall and Fugazi. But there is something distinctive here as well in how the noise is conducted, and in how emotional and cathartic the music feels overall. The band would grow more sophisticated and measured on future releases, but 3/5 has a raw, immediate appeal that stands up nicely.
Les Savy Fav's spectacular debut, 3/5, opens with a spoken word track appropriately titled "Intro." While beginning a rock album with a speech is unusual enough, even more unusual is the fact that it is entirely in French. Although this is neither the first nor the last brush with the language on this record (which should, one supposes, come as little surprise considering the band adopted a French moniker), nowhere else on 3/5 does it seem as intrusive or alienating to the ...
