With barely a plan, practically no money but plenty of dreams, the girls catch a lift with Mimi's handsome, mysterious friend Ben (Anson Mount) in his '73 Buick convertible. Along the way they not only gather experiences that will change their lives forever, but they also discover how important it is to hold onto their hearts' desires. Pop sensation Britney Spears makes her film debut in this sparkling teen road-trip adventure. Spears stars as Lucy, the beautiful valedictorian of her small Georgia hometown who has lost touch with her childhood best friends Mimi (Taryn Manning), a boyish trailer park sweetheart who happens to be pregnant, and Kit (Zoe Saldana) a luxury-obsessed overachiever who dreams of marrying her older boyfriend. Although it seems that they are all headed in separate directions, Mimi's planned cross-country trip to Los Angeles in hopes of securing a recording contract brings the old friends together for a life-altering adventure. Lucy's own dream of reuniting with her estranged mother (Kim Cattrall), who abandoned her and her auto mechanic father (Dan Aykroyd) when Lucy was only three, propels the normally cautious Lucy to take part and together they hit the road, chauffeured by Mimi's handsome loner friend Ben (Anson Mount). Their journey is plagued with many seemingly insurmountable difficulties, beginning with major car troubles that cost the girls all of their money to fix. However, they are able to raise more than enough money to pay for the repairs in a karaoke competition where Lucy (in Britney form) wows the crowd with a sexy rendition of Joan Jett's "I Love Rock 'n Roll." As the young girls head towards Los Angeles in Ben's 1973 Buick convertible they face love, heartache, and loss while distancing themselves from childhood innocence in this heartwarming coming-of-age tale filled with plenty of moments for megastar Britney to shine. Crossroads Movie Review Average Rating: (3.4 out of 5 stars)   Hilarious, but not on purpose
Full disclosure: I bought this picture for no reason other than to make fun of it. And fertile ground it is for such riffing. This movie lacks almost EVERYTHING: script, acting talent, chemistry. To be honest, Ms Spears acting ability seems the equal of her singing. I'm not a fan of either. You can have fun with this flick, but you have to bring it yourself.

If you like this kinda stuff then you'll enjoy this movie. Not my kind of film but the girlfriend loves it.

Good movie for 15 yr old (girl) she like to see Brittany in her early days before she became a little wilder!and seemed more innocent.

 Britney can actually act!
Unfotunately, Britney's acting seems to over shadow her equally talented co-stars due to her already found fame status. But even though the acting may be good, one question is left lingering over the whole film; so what?

 YES!!! BRITNEY DOES KNOW HOW TO ACT
I THOUGHT THIS MOVIE WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD. IT WAS A LOT BETTER THAN MOST MOVIES I'VE SEEN THIS YEAR. I THINK THE CRITICS WERE VERY HARSH ON BRITNEY SPEARS, WHO DID AN AMAZING JOB ON THIS MOVIE. THEY ATTACKED IT RIGHT FROM THE START JUST BECAUSE SHE WAS IN IT. SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO ACT. IF MADONNA, JLO, MARIAH CAREY, AND MANDY MOORE CAN DO IT THAN CAN SURE AS HELL DO IT. GREAT JOB BRITNEY.
