This limited edition release contains the CD for HOW THE GODS KILL and a videocassette featuring the video for the title track. The set is packaged in a 6x12 box and features a 3-dimensional rendering of H.R. Giger's surreal album art.

Danzig's 1992 release, DANZIG III: HOW THE GODS KILL, turned out to be the group's highest-charting studio album. It was also the first Danzig album to be produced entirely by the group's singer/songwriter/leader Glenn Danzig, and would prove to be the last album to include original drummer Chuck Biscuits. Like its two predecessors, DANZIG III (which featured horrific cover art by H.R. Geiger), continued to broaden the quartet's fanbase, while maintaining the band's unmistakable stamp (slow and crunchy riffs, tales of sex and the devil, Danzig's Jim Morrison-like vocal delivery, etc.).

"Dirty Black Summer" is the album's standout track, as it deals with memories of Glenn Danzig's childhood, while other highlights include the eerie ballad "Sistinas," the buoyant title track, and the album-opening epic, "Godless," which is nearly seven minutes long. DANZIG III also proved to be one of the band's last album to stick to the group's original musical direction. Future releases like 1994's DANZIG 4 and 1996's BLACKACIDEVIL (the latter featuring only Glenn Danzig from the original band) experimented rather unsuccessfully with electronically sounds, a move that alienated Danzig's heavy metal audience.

Recorded at Record Plant and Hollywood Sound Recorders, Hollywood, California.

Danzig: Glenn Danzig (vocals, keyboards), John Christ (guitar), Eerie Von (bass), Chuck Biscuits (drums).

Rolling Stone (7/9/92, p.105) - 4 Stars - Excellent - "..Danzig embodies the best in contemporary hard rock while displaying an originality that transcends genres...Rock is alarmingly short of visionaries these days; Danzig is the genuine article.."

This album deserves the high ratings that it receives. Great from beginning to end. My favorite tracks are Anything, How the Gods Kill, Dirty Black Summer, Left Hand Black, Heart of the Devil, and Do You Wear the Mark. In my opinion, this album ranks up there with Lucifuge as the band's greatest creations.

Danzig's best album. Good sound quality & good song writing. I have all of Danzig's albums and this is my personal favorite. One of the best metal albums of the 90's.

5 stars Danzig Kicks Ass!!!!!!!!!
Okay first off, I`ve been a huge Misfits/Samhain fan since 1985! I bought Danzig 3 How The Gods Kill on cassette in 92 & as soon as I put it in the stereo, the opening drums from Chuck Biscuits "Godless" start, I knew just from that one track that this album was gonna be incredible!!!! My faves are "Godless", The Title track, "Dirty Black Summer", "Left Hand Black" & "Do You Wear The Mark?" & the rest including the Beatifully dark "Sistinas" & the awesome "Anything" are great too!!!! Anything is a very emotional song!!! "Heart Of The Devil" is very Elvis-y ia very, very dark Elvis way!!! & "Bodies" & "When The Dying Calls" are straightforward rockin blues songs & Glenn delivers in the blues vocal department incredibly! This was by far Glenn`s best & heaviest album to date!!!!! An absolute Metal Classic of epic proportions!!!! Danzig & The original band were just awesome on this one!!! BUY IT OR DIE!!!

Danzig III: How The Gods Kill CD music
CD $9.55  4.2 stars Audio Samples
One of three best-of Maná compilations in the Esencials series released in 2003, Sol focuses on the band's rockers, whereas Luna focuses on their ballads and Eclipse on a distillation of both. Maná is admittedly known best for their ballads, which tended to score them their biggest hits historically, but the guys are convincing rockers as well, as showcased here on Sol. Highlights include "Oye Mi Amor," which is probably the best of Maná's earlier rockers; the song was released in 1994 on Donde Jugaran los Niños? and bares some of the band's initial resemblance to the Police as well as the influence of Soda Stereo. By and large, Maná rocked better with each album they released, however, and indeed, their most recent work here is their ...
