Masquerade album for sale Product Description
Masquerade album for sale by Wyclef Jean was released Jun 18, 2002 on the Columbia label. Continuing to build on a wildly eclectic solo career that's taken him far beyond the success of The Fugees, Wyclef Jean uses his third album MASQUERADE to weave a message of social consciousness laced with hard-edged hip-hop nuances. Utilizing the concept of these tracks emanating from the fictitious pirate radio station HOT 93.1, Jean decries selling crack as a way out of poverty ("Peace God"), pays tribute to his recently deceased father (the reggae-driven "War No More") and life in the projects ("PJs," featuring Governor and Prolific). Wyclef's interest in a broad range of music finds him giving props to Biggie, Tupac, Aaliyah, and victims of 9/11 with Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," turning Frankie Valli's "Oh What A Night" into an updated party jam and loving the ladies alongside Tom Jones on a waltz-like "Pussycat." The Haitian singer-songwriter teams with City High's Claudette Ortiz on the soulful original "Two Wrongs," gets thuggish and ruggish with Butch Cassidy and Sharissa on "Keep It Gangsta" and throws down with Brooklyn's hard-core M.O.P. on the stripped-down title cut. Masquerade CD music contains a single disc with 22 songs. ...See Full Description

Porcupine Tree In Absentia CD (2002) Top Seller
Masquerade buy CD music There's a breed of (post-1980s) bands with the same degree of grand rock experimentalism as Pink Floyd and Yes, who simultaneously adhere to the concept of concise songwriting. Porcupine Tree is one such band--their sound is a balance of lush ambient textures, charming vocal harmonies, rock & roll directness, and acoustically- and electronically-generated sounds. Their debut IN ABSENTIA shows all these elements in place, rich with the likely possibility of them becoming a contemporary counterpart to Pink Floyd.
Hailed by Billboard as 'cinematic...simple gorgeous', Porcupine Tree are unquestionably one of the UK's most inspired and inventive rock groups. In Absentia is their eagerly anticipated Lava Records debut. Digipak. 2002.

Outkast Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below CDs (2003)
Masquerade CD music Includes an untitled hidden track at the end of THE LOVE BELOW CD.
Additional personnel includes: Sleepy Brown, Jazze Pha, Jay-Z, Killer Mike, Big Gipp, Ludacris, Rosario Dawson, Norah Jones, Kelis, Cee-Lo, Lil Jon, Mello, Slim Calhoun, Kuhjo Goodie.
SPEAKERBOXXX/THE LOVE BELOW won the 2004 Grammy Awards for Album Of The Year and for Best Rap Album. "Hey Ya!" won for Best Urban/Alternative Performance. The song was also nominated for Record Of The Year.
Simply put, there is no band that does anything close to what Outkast does. Big Boi & Andre 3000 have consistently managed to maintain mainstream success while obliterating the limits of what is considered to be hip-hop. Frolicking at the outskirts of language, they throw every genre into a blender and make every musical turn sound organic. SPEAKERBOXXX/THE LOVE BELOW is actually two solo records fused together, the former by Big Boi, the latter by Andre 3000, with each mind working at an equally frantic pace to create a gloriously split sonic experience.
Big Boi opens with a techno intro that fades into industrial-style grinding on "Ghettomusick," before settling into more traditional, although far from ordinary, rap tracks on "Unhappy" and "The Way You Move." His most salient moment comes on "War," an uncompromising condemnation of American politics that strikes the perfect balance of righteous rage and measured speech. When Dre takes the reins, the concoction gets wonderfully weirder with everything from the piano bar pop of "Love Hater" to the call and response of "She Lives in My Lap" to the mystery mix of the outstanding single "Hey Ya!" Following the remarkable STANKONIA, SPEAKERBOXXX/THE LOVE BELOW cements Outkast's position as rap innovators and keeps them in the lead as the genre's primary visionaries.
Includes an untitled hidden track at the end of Disc 2.
2cds.Explicit. All New Studio Album.
Outkast: Andre "3000" Benjamin, Antwan "Big Boi" Patton.
Producers include: Andre 3000, Mr. DJ, Big Boi, Carl Mo, DoJo 5.

Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots CD (2002)
Masquerade songs "Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon (Utopia Planitia)" won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
This limited edition includes a bonus DVD version of YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK
ROBOTS including the whole album in surround sound, videos and rare tracks.
Emerging sometime in the '80s, Oklahoma boys The Flaming Lips have held steady to a peripheral, but significant location in the indie-rock world, visionaries blessed with a hyper-keen pop sensibility. In 1999, four years removed from the surprise alterna-pop hit "She Don't Use Jelly," the trio fronted by the fetching, impelling whisper of Wayne Coyne hit a remarkably high note, making scores of year-end 'best of' lists with THE SOFT BULLETIN, a mellifluous, masterful slice of Brian Wilson-level pop distorted through a few looking glasses. Following an acclaimed album is always a craggy cliff of anticipation, but if BULLETIN was the Flaming Lips' PET SOUNDS, then the ethereal YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK ROBOTS may be their SMILEY SMILE, a record which skillfully straddles the line between pop and experimentation.
YOSHIMI offers lush, enveloping arrangements, forging a soundscape both comfortably predictable and satisfyingly, even dizzyingly, diverse, awash in Todd Rundgren-like grandiosity, yet startlingly simple in structure like the better work of Paul McCartney. Despite having the air of a quasi-concept album, YOSHIMI betrays little pretension, even in the face of the Lips' trademark deceptively complex lyrics. The exceptional YOSHIMI easily cements the Flaming Lips' place in the vanguard of the rock world.
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, The Flaming Lips' long awaited follow-up to 1999's The Soft Bulletin. Guest artist Yoshimi P-we plays with psyche-noise-experimental group the Boredoms and leads her own band OOIOO. The Yoshimi in the songs, however, is a fictional character. 11 tracks. 2002.
Additional personnel includes: Yoshimi P-We.
Recorded at Tarbox Road Studios, Cassadaga, New York between June 2000 & April 2001.
Personnel: Wayne Coyne (vocals, guitar); Dave Fridmann (programming).
Audio Mixer: Dave Fridmann.
Recording information: Tarbox Road Studios, Cassadaga, NY (06/2000-04/2002).
The Flaming Lips: Wayne Coyne (vocals, guitar); Michael Ivins (guitar, bass, background vocals); Steve Drozd (guitar, drums, background vocals).
Producers: The Flaming Lips, Dave Fridmann, Scott Booker.

Lucky Dube Soul Taker CD (2002)
Masquerade album for sale To say that South African reggae superstar Lucky Dube has a distinctive sound is to put it rather kindly. To put it less kindly, he has one melody -- a big, unabashedly cathartic one -- and he's been singing it for over 15 years. Luckily, it's a very good melody, and he makes it work again and again on his tenth album, in particular on heart-tugging anthems like "Romeo," "Money Money Money," and "Good Girl." He mixes things up stylistically a bit more at the opening and close of the album, with the aggressive rock-flavored "Put a Little Love" and "Sins of the Flesh," which uses mbaqanga-derived harmonies and a funk groove to create a sound that has little, if anything, to do with reggae, but everything to do with Dube's homeland. In between are those big, cathartic pop-reggae gems and a few other noteworthy tracks, including the bluesy two-chord vamp of "Sleeping Dogs" and a snarling political putdown titled "Teach the World," whose message may be aimed at the U.S. or South Africa or maybe Colombia -- it's not really clear which. Fans know what to expect; as for those looking for an introduction to Dube's distinctive brand of Afro-reggae, this is as good a place to start as any. ~ Rick Anderson

B Rich 80 Dimes CD (2002)
Masquerade CD music Rapper B Rich may not be from a hip-hop hot spot like New York or L.A., but the Baltimore-based artist has no need to align himself geographically in order to make his case as a vital performer. For one thing, 80 DIMES one-ups many of its contemporaries just by being downright funky, something many too-clever hip-hop producers tend to overlook. Just the rhythm track alone on "Showtime," for example, something of a cross between New Orleans R&B (courtesy of a well placed Meters sample) and a Bo Diddley beat, is as infectious as any hip-hop track in recent memory. And though B Rich displays his street roots on the hypnotically undulating "Back to the Streets," he avoids gangsta overstatement in favor of old-school celebratory topics ("Friday") and endearing self-aggrandizement ("Hip Hop Slang").
Recorded at Westlake Studios, Streelight Studios, and The Shoreham, Los Angeles, California; Audiology Studios and TMF studios, New York, New York.

Love and a Bullet CD (2002)
Masquerade buy CD music Acting as the soundtrack to rapper Treach's (Naughty by Nature) acting vehicle, Love and a Bullet is a high-energy release that offers some harsh and unique hip-hop from the underground. Many of the artists included aren't necessary lyrical pioneers, but what makes their songs stand out is the powerful production that backs many of the tracks. Techinec's "Payback" offers a symphonic mesh that brings to mind classic blaxploitation scores, while Sixx John's use of a manic accordion sample provides a bizarre backbeat for the Jay-Z-style rap over the top of it. Many of the producers utilize classic-sounding instruments to drive the various songs along, which makes it seem much more like a uniform film score than a simple collection of songs. Sadly enough, one of the weakest entries is Naughty by Nature's "Rah Rah," which is put to shame by the intensely creative offerings from the other inclusions here. Where most of the younger groups featured offer a distinct twist on their tracks, Naughty by Nature is stuck playing catch-up with their dated and unoriginal street anthem. It isn't like Love and a Bullet is strikingly different, but it contains several underground hip-hop acts that offer something more than the played-out thug anthems of their mainstream peers. The future of hip-hop has always belonged to the young, and several potential candidates for this honor get some well-deserved exposure here. ~ Bradley Torreano
Original score composed by Tyler Bates.
