I feel yery enthusiastic about this recording. His singing was new to me but it includes a great impression like his trombone playing which is here at his best ( I like the cup muted sound which he uses here all the time). J.J. played very short solos on the most of his studio recordings. It ´s not easy to say much in less time. Rosolino mastered this here with perfection.

for those of us that had the opportunity to see rosolino live at the mike put the horn aside and sing with verve and fun this stufio presentation is a disappointment.

 Frank Rosolino Sings
Frank Rosolino sings on every track, which is ok in short doses. However, his trombone playing is outstanding. Backed up by a stellar rhythm section that includes Victor Feldman on piano, I would preferred more playing and less singing from Frank. There is not a lot of Rosolino out there, so on the basis of his playing during his peak, I would recommend this album.
