Explicit Lyrics:E-40,Brotha Lunch Hung,Mr.Short Khop,Yukmo
Personnel includes: C-Bo, E-40, Brotha Lynch Hung, Yukmouth, Killa Tay, Spade, Crash, Bobby Sealz, Big Lurch, Cosmo, Lil' Cyco, Young Meek, Thug Mississ, Mr. Short Khop, CJ Mac, Cryciz, Fat Tone, Roger Troutman, Speedy, Cool Nutz, H6)dsta Rob, Phat's Bossi, Max Julian, Pizzo, Bosko (rap vocals). Producers include: Floss P, Vonzail, Bosko, Wino, Terrance "T-Po" Powe. Recording information: Bosko's; Carson, CA; House Of Blues, Encino, CA; Kansas City; Los Angeles, CA; The Vault. Debuting on a new label, West Coast Mafia, with an album of the same name, C-Bo continues his dark vision of left-coast gangster politics, with the apocalyptic chords and lyrical menace to match. C-Bo starts right from the beginning, reassuring listeners that the West Coast is still selling records with "Milk & Honey" and reminding everyone who's really gangsta with "We Did It." "Can U Deal Wit This?" finds him trading some great rhymes with Killa Tay and Big Lurch, while Roger Troutman, Jr. makes up for the absence of his father on talkbox guitar. Though C-Bo raps prove he's still at the top of his game, the productions are a bit samey, with dark chords and trebly percussion rollers on most every track. ~ John Bush Hardcore rapper C-Bo has done jail time for the ferocity of his lyrical output, so the content of WEST COAST MAFIA should only be a surprise to the incredibly unwary. Titles such as "Keep Shit Locced," "Thugg It," and "I'm a Baller" are more hints that C-Bo and his confederates Big Lurch and Spade & Crash are nothing if not reality-based in their slices of thug life. Meanwhile, "Blacc Gorillas" continues the gangsta tradition of calling the public's attention to the fact that the guys wish to be left to carry on their activities in peace and without disturbance, thank you very much (though not in those precise words). WEST COAST MAFIA is very much your traditional gangsta collection, though this shouldn't dissuade C-Bo and Co.'s many fans old and new from enjoying it immensely.

| | Jacka Jack Artist CD (2005)
West Coast Mafia
$13.15 Enter the Jacka. The death of 2Pac in the mid 90's ripped the heart out of West Coast Hip Hop. At the same time a young street poet named the Jacka was honing his skills in the Bay Area Rap game. Always open minded, he was influenced by b-boys and thugs, pimps and Imams. The Jacka has since developed into an established, well-rounded, well-versed emcee in the right place to bring ...

| | Johnny Gill CD (1990)
West Coast Mafia
$6.79 Johnny Gill re-established himself as a solo artist in 1990, and he did so in tremendous fashion, recording an astonishing self-titled debut for Motown that brought together the hitmaking duos Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and L.A. & Babyface to produce an album chock-full of hits. The combination of these two duos was unprecedented. Along with Teddy Riley, they had dominated late-'80s urban radio, utterly and absolutely, churning out hit after hit after hit and co-defining the burgeoning new jack swing movement in the process. Gill likewise had recently experienced enormous success during the late '80s when, following ...

| | Geto Boys We Can't Be Stopped CD (1991)
West Coast Mafia
$14.29 Producers: John Bido, Simon, Scarface, Willie D., Bushwick, Johnny C., James Smith, Roland. Geto Boys: Scarface, Willie D, Bushwick Bill (rap vocals). The cover of this 1991album shows group member Bushwick Bill being wheeled down a dingy hospital corridor after being shot in the eye, and it's real--no joke, probably the ugliest cover in all of rap (and one of the best). Inside, Mr. Scarface spins his drug-war stories ("Gotta Let Your Nuts Hang"), while Willie D spews his misanthropic venom ("Ain't with Being Broke"), and the 3'8" Bushwick Bill laughingly threatens those who tease him for being short ("Size Ain't S**T"). These guys are all pretty scary, but Bill takes it to a whole other level with his deadpan impersonation of "Chuckie" from the horror flick, CHILD'S PLAY. The album's big hit was "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," an Isaac Hayes-sampling tale of hallucinations and Halloween-related assault that single-handedly launched ...
