Freedom Call's chosen musical style of symphonic power/prog metal is one that is definitely not for everyone. It can come across as overblown, pompous, or just plain silly. Eternity certainly has moments that fall into all of those categories. The band does seem to be stretching out a bit here, though. They have added a few moments of death metal vocals, something rather unknown in the genre. This one also comes across as a bit more genuine and real than their previous release and, in fact, more than most of the bands in this genre. Perhaps this one shows signs of where the genre might be heading, into a slightly more accessible vein. Listeners can certainly hope so. ~ Gary Hill

Freedom Call Eternity is pure melodic metal that will satisfy fans of Angra,Hammerfall,Stratovarius ect..Vocalist Chris Bay has a powerful clear voice that soars on the opening metal anthem Metal Invasion,and the beautiful power ballard Bleeding Heart to the keyboard driven Land of the Light.Every track is pure satisfacton to your ears,with very uplifting lyrics,catchy choruses and great guitar riffs.Any fan of this genre must add this disc to their collection.

As with Freedom Call's two previous albums (Stairway to Fairyland & Crystal Empire), Eternity is another excellent collection of uplifting power metal anthems no one should be without. Standout tracks include 'Warriors' and 'Land of Light'. Get this one as soon as possible!!! --Dave

This is the first release I have heard by them, but it is right in my listening field. The choruses of most of the songs are very catchy and I find myself humming or singing them throughout the day. I love the keyboards and the nice guitar riffs they give us. And the choir-style vocals are among the best I've heard. I'll be buying (or asking for gifts) their other albums for sure!

Just what you would expect from Freedom Call, more in the vein of their previous CDs. The new guitarist fits in well with the band. Can't say much other than if you liked the previous CDs you'll like this one just as well.

Sweden's Therion have been lauded the world over, just about, for their wildly influential and experimental symphonic heavy metal; it incorporates not only classical ambitions and arrangements, but the integration of European folk and even industrial elementals into their sound. Add to this guitarist, songwriter and conceptualist Christofer Johnsson and (non)performing scholar/lyricist Thomas Karlsson's collective studied knowledge of myths, arcane occult knowledge, and folklore from around the globe (East of the Atlantic anyway) and you have the very beginnings of Therion's reach and command of artful heavy music. Johnsson added an opera singer (and now two) a couple of years back to bring life to his simultaneously pretentious and operatic vision of a quadrology of Nordic myth that began with Secret of the Runes, continued in the simultaneously issued Sirius B and Lemuria, and sees its grand -- and oh is it grand -- finale in Gothic Kaballah, the most righteous vision of excess heavy metal has ever seen.
