Things start to improve for Ozzy on No Rest for the Wicked, as Zakk Wylde replaces Jake E. Lee on guitar and Osbourne comes up with his best set since 1983. Again, it's not quite up to the level of excellence his Blizzard of Ozz band achieved, but Osbourne sounds somewhat rejuvenated, and Wylde is a more consistently interesting guitarist than Lee. Highlights include "Miracle Man" (in which Ozzy gloats about the downfall of the TV preachers who had long attacked him as an agent of Satan) and the MTV hits "Crazy Babies" and "Breaking All the Rules." ~ Steve Huey
Although Ozzy Osbourne received enormous commercial success with 1986's THE ULTIMATE SIN, his detour into glam metal proved unsatisfying for both Osbourne and his fans. Osbourne spent most of 1987 readying his postponed live album with Randy Rhoads for release, TRIBUTE, and pondering his future musical direction. He elected to return to the kind of music that got him where he was in the first place--loud, unapologetic heavy metal. He also decided to replace guitarist Jake E. Lee with a young newcomer from New Jersey, Zakk Wylde, for 1989's NO REST FOR THE WICKED. Wylde had been a lifelong Ozzy/Sabbath fan, and resembled Randy Rhoads both in appearance and in playing style.
While the album is not on par with such past classics as BLIZZARD OF OZ and DIARY OF A MADMAN, NO REST FOR THE WICKED did represent a return to Osbourne's roots (thanks in part to longtime Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker). Osbourne tackles a range of subjects throughout, such as crooked televangelists ("Miracle Man"), serial killer Charles Manson ("Bloodbath in Paradise"), and even his own struggle with alcoholism ("Demon Alcohol"). Also included is the concert favorite and popular video, "Crazy Babies."

1 star It's Very Clear !!! Ozzy's Worst
For those of you who rate this cd high tells me that some people will like any garbage release that a great artist puts out. It's time to wake up !! There is not even one song on this cd that Ozzy should be proud of. If you are into Ozzy just stick to: Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Ozzmosis. To a lesser degree No More Tears and Bark at the Moon. The rest only get to complete your collection.

1 star What happen to ozzy?
this album is by far the worst album the oz-man has put out. I cant believe you people give this sorry excuse for a album a five star rating are you people on drugs or what? the instent I heard miracle man and bloodbath in paradise which is very overrated and not the best song in album, I couldnt belive my ears it sounded like cher on P.C.P! and still you people belive hes god more like a mongul. worst album ever.......................

3 stars Not the best from Ozzy
This is Zack's debut with Ozzy. In my opinion it was thrown together rushed relese! There's only a couple of memerable tracks on this one but nothing spectacular!

3 stars On the way back...
Opinions ranging from 'his best album ever' to 'I can't believe you people give this sorry excuse for a album a five star rating' have already been posted here and show just how polarised Ozzie fans are when it comes to rating this particular opus. As usual, the truth lies somewhere inbetween. This is by no means Ozzie's best album, that accolade, in my humble opinion, rests squarely with his debut effort 'Blizzard of Ozz'. It is none the less his strongest, most emotional set of songs since 'Diary of a Madman', partly because it deliberately evokes the complexity and 'sabbath-ness' of his early solo efforts. Zak Wyld is no Randy Rhodes, that's for sure, but he arguably demonstrates more virtuosity and passion than we ever got from Jake E Lee. The songs range from the wretched soul searching of 'Fire in the Sky' and 'The Liar' to the deliciously tongue-in-cheek 'Crazy Babies', 'Tatooed Dancer' ("Dance for me, bitch!", I ask you?!)and 'Demon Alcohol'. This is the first album in a while where Ozzy actually sounds like he's enjoying himself. If you want to hear tired and jaded give 'The Ultimate Sin' a spin...oh dear. Of course it is almost another two decades before Ozzy delivers another brilliant album, 2003's 'Down to Earth', but that's another review for another time.

Mastered and released as a one-song effort at over 40 minutes long, Morning of My Life, described by its creator Nicolai Dunger as concluding a three-part series of albums under the A Taste of Ra name, makes for another enjoyable blend of styles and approaches that gently touches on everything from avant-garde jazz to understated folk and classical flourishes, all tied together in a way that suggests the soundtrack to an otherwise silent movie or documentary; ...
