| | Judas Priest Sad Wings Of Destiny CD Judas Priest Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
Frontman Rob Halford has considered this to be Judas Priest's SGT. PEPPER, and it's easy to see why. The album expanded upon the group's debut by tackling a variety of styles, utilizing dynamics to striking effect, and establishing the essential guitar interplay between Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing. "Victim Of Changes" may be forever known for its snarling riffs and Halford's startling final scream, but its subdued mid-section enhances the power of those elements. "The Ripper" offers up Victorian horror, while "Tyrant" and "Island Of Domination" thunder along with metallic machismo.
The album has it softer side, however, notably the neo-classical rock instrumental "Prelude," the melancholy piano ballad "Epitaph," complete with crooning vocal harmonies, and the semi-acoustic existential contemplation "Dreamer Deceiver," a long-lost gem in the band's large oeuvre. Frankly, every track on this album is a winner, and SAD WINGS OF DESTINY would become the first of several albums from Priest that would forever transform the world of heavy metal.
German edition of the British heavy metal act's 1976 album. Nine tracks including, 'Victims Of Changes', 'The Ripper' & 'Dream Deceiver'. Repertoire. Sad Wings Of Destiny album
$8.69 The album's opening track, "Sweet Leaf," a salute to one of the band's favorite smokeable substances, contains one of metal's heaviest guitar riffs, courtesy of Tony Iommi. Another eternal band favorite is the grim, post-nuclear war tale "Children of the Grave." Vocalist Ozzy Osbourne is in fine voice on "After Forever" and "Lord of ...

Sad Wings Of Destiny CD music
$8.65 While the title track is the album's best-known song, SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH proved to be another in a long line of 100% filler-free records from Ozzy and co. Highlights included the creepy "Who Are You?," plus the Tony Iommi riff-mongers "A National Acrobat," "Killing Yourself to Live," and "Sabra Cadabra," a song that Metallica ...
| | Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy CD (1976)
Sad Wings Of Destiny music CDs
$6.09 By the mid-'70s, a number of problems were threatening to break up the original line-up of Black Sabbath. The stress brought on by lengthy touring, drug use, and alcoholism had begun to dilute the band's original, influential heavy metal. Sabbath began to drift away from the straight-ahead power rock of such classic albums as PARANOID and SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH, as evidenced by its final two albums to feature singer Ozzy Osbourne, 1976's TECHNICAL ECSTASY and 1978's NEVER SAY DIE. However, TECHNICAL ECSTASY ...
| | Black Sabbath Paranoid CD (1971)
Sad Wings Of Destiny songs
$8.59 PARANOID proved to be Black Sabbath's most focused, consistent, and successful record. Leaving behind the amorphous, extended jams of their debut for focused songs and a more structured sound, Black Sabbath virtually wrote the book on heavy metal with the ominous, unforgettable riffs, thunderous rhythms, and dark themes on this release. There are some up-tempo rockers, the famous title track for one, but for the most part PARANOID oozes along like a bad dream, as on the slinky, ...
| | Black Sabbath Never Say Die! CD (1978)
Sad Wings Of Destiny album
$6.09 By the end of the '70s, though Black Sabbath remained a top concert draw, its albums had become increasingly erratic and sub-par when compared to its earlier master works. Singer Ozzy Osbourne's growing disillusionment with the band had reached a boiling point, especially after it took so long to complete 1978's NEVER SAY DIE, the original line-up's final album. Though the album's title might suggest that the band had reconciled its differences (Osbourne ...

Sad Wings Of Destiny music CDs
$8.78 NO MONEY DOWN is the new release from the powerful duo of Paul Metsa and Sonny Earl who are celebrating over a decade of making music together. This 6 song EP/CD with a bonus 2 song DVD features the politically charged NO MONEY DOWN, a new Metsa original that describes the state of the world economy with overdriven harp and percussion by legendary percussionist Stanley Kipper (James Taylor, Minnie Ripperton, Taj Mahal.) The boys do a great tribute to Bo Diddley, with an electric band version of Bo's WHO DO YOU LOVE, recorded just a week after Bo's passing and features San Francisco blues guitar master Ron Thompson on electric guitar. WHISKEY OR THE RAIN, is a Metsa original that takes a country twist with fine piano and dobro by Paul's old friend, and jam band THE BIG WU's keyboard player Al Oikari. DIRTY DISHES (Metsa/Earl) is a fun string band romp in the tradition of the Mississippi Sheiks and features Minneapolis folk godfather Bill Hinkley on fiddle and mandolin. Bill and his partner Judy Larson let a young man named BOB DYLAN sit in with them while he was getting his start in Dinkytown, the folk music mecca of the Twin Cities in the late 50's and 60's. RIVER HIP MAMA pays homage to SONNY TERRY and BROWNIE McGHEE, who Paul and Sonny credit ...
