Christopher Lee made one of his final appearances on the big screen as the malevolent Count with a lust for blood. In this dark and diabolical tale, Count Dracula fronts a satanic cult that uses a research establishment and real estate business as a cover for its dastardly deeds in 1970s London. Peter Cushing costars. In this modern update of the Dracula saga, Count Dracula (Christopher Lee) leads a Satanic cult of prominent scientists and politicians into developing a gruesome plague virus. His only obstacle is his old nemesis Lorimar Van Helsing (Peter Cushing). The Count poses as an isolated billionaire, and holds hostage Van Helsing's granddaughter (Joanna Lumley). Though Van Helsing does not realize that his arch enemy is the same person responsible for the plague, but sets about trying to rescue his granddaughter. When he uncovers the truth behind the secret identity--will he stop the villain once and for all? Poor version of a good film!! Do not buy this version. This version is the cut version of The Satanic Rites of Dracula. It's 87 minutes long and Rated "R". The original uncut and unrated 90 minute UK version is only released thur Anchor Bay Entertainment. I costs about 10 to 15 dollars more, but it's a much better copy. Unlike the cheap version, Anchor Bay has digitally remastered it and it's in 2.35:1 widescreen. I hope this helps out a Christopher Lee fan out there. Thanks for reading. dragged out movie this movie is really slow starting but its ok for it's time great scene where all these naked vampire chicks are down in a basement chained up Submitted by gary (pittsburgh,pa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
The End This film despite having Hammer legends Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing fails to attract any sort of enthusiasm whatsoever from any angle. The bizarre plot where Dracula is planning a worldwide destruction through a plague, his appearance as a businessman, satanic rituals etc just seemed too much. The only redeeming scenes are when he first appears as smoke from under a door and the finale in which he has to walk through a thornbush are worth watching. Elsewhere this movie was a major bore. Satanic Rites Of Dracula film
$9.29 Recorded during a one-off 1997 reunion show, this vibrant live album featured the near original lineup of thrash metal pioneers Exodus; the only absent parties are original bassist Geoff Andrews and guitarist Kirk Hammet, who was probably tied up at his day job Metallica. Though it was almost certainly tweaked in the studio at a later date, the performance captured on Another Lesson in Violence sounds amazingly live and raw, containing furious renditions of the band's many early classics, screw-ups and all. The band wisely concentrates on material from their landmark debut Bonded By Blood, the only to feature terminally cheesy vocalist Paul Baloff, who incidentally, appears to have matured little in the intermittent 15 years. And in keeping with the spirit of the festivities, the only three tracks culled from their disappointing sophomore album Pleasures of the Flesh were also co-written by Baloff before his dismissal. As an added bonus, ...
| | Emperor Emperial Live Ceremony CD (2000)
Satanic Rites Of Dracula review
$13.39 This is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
As black metal's fully enthroned reigning kings, Emperor are truly an interesting, intriguing act, combining the soaring, operatic, orchestral sensibilities of classical music with the pomposity, technical skill, and brutality of various types of heavy metal. What emerges from that Norwegian cocoon is something entirely new, or if not entirely new, then a fully realized version of something that had been attempted by other acts. This live disc, which also incorporates multimedia -- a video for "I Am the Black Wizards" and Emperor screensavers -- was recorded and engineered during European touring for Equilibrium IX. Whether or not the tracks have been overdubbed -- after all, black metal is not an easy medium to work in -- remains fairly dubious. The drums have certainly been triggered, but whether additional vocals or guitars were cut, who knows. One thing is certain, Emperor prove mightily adept at conveying the full range of human emotion in song; from soaring, anthemic leads, to deep, murky Mahler-esque moods; to capturing the frightening solitude of a cold Scandinavian winterscape. Emperial Live Ceremony is not one of the best live albums ever recorded -- or, for that matter, overdubbed ...

Satanic Rites Of Dracula movie DVD
$7.15 Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English
Taking the heavy metal world by storm in the early 1980s with their stadium-rock anthem "Cum on Feel the Noize," Quiet Riot's career mirrored that old adage epitomized by rock and roll: "live fast and die young." Rising quickly to heights of stardom that shocked both the public and the band themselves, their trajectory was fraught with obstacles that prevented them from assuming iconic status in rock history. Frontman Kevin DuBrow, who supremely embodied the rock star bad attitude with his loud mouth and quick temper, had difficulty dealing with success, and even more difficulty dealing with the failure experienced by their debut album's successor, CRITICAL CONDITION. Aptly named, it was a rushed attempt to capitalize on the group's current popularity, ...
| | Loudness Hurricane Eyes CD (1987)
Satanic Rites Of Dracula video
$9.69 Though it failed to equal the mostly novelty-based sales of Loudness' first internationally distributed album Thunder in the East, Lightning Strikes had handily managed to translate the band's Japanese-bred heavy metal into a more easily digestible recipe for Western audiences. Because this progress didn't translate into sales, however, their record company, Atco, felt the need to force the band's hand toward an even more pop-metal direction when it came time to record their next effort. Yet, while producer Max Norman's work on Lightning Strikes had merely served to trim the excess fat from Loudness' rather busy compositions, new hire Andy Johns would show no such restraint in his mission to completely disfigure the band's sound. 1987's misguided Hurricane Eyes was the result. With their generic riffs and big, dumb choruses, formulaic singles like "This Lonely Heart" and "Take Me Home" push the envelope of pop-metal overkill with tragic consequences, while full-throttle thrashers topped with cold-war lyrics like "S.D.I." and "Strike of the Sword" seem equally desperate in their attempt to swing the balance in the opposite direction. To make matters worse, former Angel keyboard player Gregg Giuffria looms over the proceedings like a true "angel of crap," lending a dubious helping hand to Loudness' musical act of hara-kiri. Needless to ...
| | Twisted Sister - Live At Wacken: The Reunion DVD (2005)
Satanic Rites Of Dracula film
$14.85 Formed in 1976, the New York City-based glam-metal band Twisted Sister ruled the '80s airwaves with their heavy brand of Motorhead-influenced rock, a garishly made-up image that borrowed from Kiss and Alice Cooper, and a healthy dose of humor made evident in their theatrical live shows and imaginative music videos. Though Twisted Sister broke up three years after the double-platinum success of their 1984 album, STAY HUNGRY, the band performed a ...
