Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Michelle Burke, Sinbad, Michael McKean, Phil Hartman - Dir:Steve Barron The movie is based on a series of comedy sketches which originally aired on "Saturday Night Live" during the 1976-1977 season. The basic premise of the plot revolves around the Conehead family, newly landed on Earth from the planet Remulak, who find themselves trying to dodge two Immigration and Naturalization officers. Hounded by the immigration authorities, the Coneheads continue to pursue the American dream, raising their teenaged daughter "Connie" in their suburban home and on weekends barbecuing mass quantities of animal protein in the back yard. Inspired by the early "Saturday Night Live" skit. The supporting cast includes a veritable "who's-who" of TV comedy, from comics-turned-sitcom stars Drew Carey and Ellen DeGeneres to "Seinfeld" stars Jason Alexander and Michael Richards and "SNL" cast members Jan Hooks, Julia Sweeney, and Tim Meadows. Released in USA July 23, 1993.
The film gives the principal cast members of "SNL," both old and new, a chance to work together for the very first time.
The director, Steve Barron, had previously directed the independent feature "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" which ending up grossing over $300 million worldwide. He has also directed several music videos featuring top recording artists such as David Bowie, Madonna and the Michael Jackson's videos "Thriller" and "Billie Jean."

HILARIOUS..GREAT FOR ANY (SNL) Saturday Night Live LOVERS...A COUPLE FROM ANOTHER PLANET LAND ON EARTH AND HAVE TO ADJUST TO AMERICAN LIVING UNTIL OTHERS FROM THEIR PLANET CAN GET THEM..IN THE MEANTIME THEY HAVE A CHILD, THE FATHER IS A HARD WORKER, AND MOTHER A HOUSEWIFE..WHEN THEIR PLANET SENDS FOR THEM AND THEY GO BACK THEY REALIZE THAT THEY LIKED LIVING ON EARTH AND THATS WHERE THEY ARE GOING TO STAY.

Very well made Saturday Nit Live alumni film. Played to the hilt.
Top notch effects. Funny stuff all the way around. A Must buy for all reasons.

After watching the Coneheads on SNL, we were not expecting this movie to be so much more. It's a love story, an adventure story, and a patriotic homage to freedom in the USA. The cast is great, the direction quick paced, and it's cut to a length that keeps your attention. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light comedy that embraces the best of SNL wit and slapstick.

I guess you can chizzle it in stone by now that Dan Aykroyd is no longer funny.
