Artel Kayaru, Bruce Davison, Dion Basco, Jeremy Renner, Matt Newton - Director: David Jacobson One of the most notorious serial killers in America was Wisconsin's Jeffrey Dahmer. Dahmer's exploits included killing 15 boys and resorting to cannibalism on their corpses. This biographical drama starring Jeremy Renner (TV's ZOE, DUNCAN, JACK & JANE) does not focus on the grisly details of the murders, rather it sets out to comprehend an alienated man who struggles with his own sexuality until driven disturbingly over his head. Writer/director David Jacobson has constructed a film very much in contrast to other Dahmer portrayals in its compassion for the deranged mind. The film uses flashbacks and very few characters to give a history of the serial killer's upbringing and details as to what drove him over the edge. The masterful use of time and a strong cast were additional tools Jabobson used to elevate this horrific drama. Featuring Bruce Davison and Artel Kayaru. Dahmer Reviews: "...Renner gives a focused, understated portrayal in a challenging role..."-- Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times "...Serious, well-acted..."
-- Stephen Holden, New York Times "...DAHMER does something quietly riveting. It lets you brush up against the humanity of a psycho, without making him any less psycho..."
-- Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly
This is the only Dion Basco video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Artel Kayaru, Kate Williamson. Dahmer Movie Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Very unclear and confusing This movie was all over the place. It was really hard to tell what was actually happening at the time of the movie and what was a flash back. It concentrated too much on just one victim when it should of gone into more depth about why he did this and what his motivation was. I don't recomend this movie, I would have been better off getting a documentary about him then getting the movie. Submitted by celts12289 (Pittsfield, MA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
amazing trip into one man's mind In spite of the disturbing matter, "Dahmer" never indulges in scenes of cruelty or violence.
The ordinary yet deranged life of the serial killer is well portrayed as well as his father and occasional friends.
I expected more characters and stories but the whole picture is focused on only one or two of the victims.
Jeremy Renner plays wonderfully, but he's not so scary.
Anyway an excellent production.
Subtitles would have been useful.

worth the money and more So i see this film on special and buy it, not once did i think i would get anything this good. I think the only other film that looks at the subject the same way is a English film called "pepping tom", great acting from what i think are all pretty unknown actors. Non-exploitative serial killer film, you really don't hear that too often and it is really true. Some of the ideas that the director David Jacobson comes up with, will i am sure be stolen in time by much bigger name directors. His way of showing flashbacks was unreal and that he really is thinking about his craft, well done to all involved. Buy at all costs ! Duhmber Introspective movie that relies on the assumption that the viewer has prior knowledge of the case to the extent that we are left with a confusing and ultimately unsatisfying piece; there is little made of the police involvement and the building of characters is sketchy. Watch Ed Gein to see how it should be done. Submitted by a reviewer (Newquay Cornwall UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
He did eat people right? For this to be the only film made on Dahmer,it sure was terrible. The whole film is more based on him being a homosexual than a cannibal. There was nothing of him eating anyone in it.Renner played Dahmer well, but i was expecting this to be alot better. | | Pat And Mike DVD (1952)
Dahmer review
$16.75 One of the most engaging George Cukor comedies, this was the director's eighth and last film with Katharine Hepburn. With exceptionally witty dialogue (the Kanin/Gordon script got an Academy Award nomination), PAT AND MIKE was tailor made for its two stars, presenting a picture of sexual politics far ahead of its time. The film tells the story of the unlikely professional and romantic relationship between a classy female golfer and a street smart sports promoter. Pat Pemberton (Katharine Hepburn) is a physical education teacher who, entering a golf tournament, is approached by Mike Conovan (Spencer Tracy), a sports promoter and manager. Impressed by her game, he convinces her to sign a pro contract to compete in various sporting competitions. Now it is Mike's task to get Pat into professional shape. Hepburn did all of her own golfing in the finished film. Appearing in the movie as themselves were some of the most celebrated sportswomen of the era, including golfer Babe Didriksen Zaharias and tennis star "Gorgeous" Gussie Moran.
This DVD musical stars Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn.

Dahmer video
$7.59 Relapse Records' follow-up to their first RECOLLECTION DVD, which provided a look back over the label's history with very rare videos from their artists; this collection once again delivers hard, high-energy music videos from the heavyweights of the genre. Mastodon plays a compelling blend of metal, hardcore, and grind that defies categorization, while the Bay Area sextet Neurosis makes their presence felt with their particular brand of emotional, complex doom metal that is by turns psychedelic, claustrophobic, and almost orchestral. The self-described "ithyphallic metal" played by South Carolinians Nile is a brutal, dynamic whirlwind of driving force, while Burnt by the Sun offers a meticulously crafted, nuanced metal/hardcore that is as brutal as it is virtuoso. All 17 of these videos provide a rare look at the bands and the label that have shaped the sound of heavy music today, many of which have never before been available.
This DVD delivers seventeen high-energy music videos from you favorite Relapse artists straight to your living room including Mastodon, Nile, Neurosis, Burnt By the Sun, Dying Fetus, Burst, Today Is the Day, Dysrhythmia, Amorphis, Skinless, Suffocation, Alchemist, The End, Cephalic Carnage, and Vidnaobmana.
