Jono Manson and George 'Breakfast' Bacon met in the early 1980s and have been firm friends ever since. At that time, Jono’s band, the Worms, were the most exciting R&B/funk band playing regularly in NYC, with the possible exception of the Holmes Brothers. George was new in town and immediately became a fan. When George started his own band, the Corn Flakes, Jono was sufficiently impressed to kindly offer to help record the band. Over the next few years, Jono produced several sessions for George, with the Corn Flakes and with Mumbo Gumbo (the acoustic band George formed with Joe Flood). When the Worms’ bass player, the inimitable Jerry Dugger, needed some time off, Jono asked George to fill his shoes, which George happily did for several months until Jerry’s return. Manuel Aspidi nasce a Livorno il 12 Novembre 1987. Vive in una famiglia numerosa: ha, infatti, ben quattro fratelli di cui uno gemello. E’ abituato, quindi, a relazionarsi con molte persone diverse: ciò gli ha permesso di avere, oggi, un carattere socievole e solare. Manuel comincia fin da piccolo anche a prendere lezioni di musica leggera e a soli quindici anni vince già numerosi concorsi canori locali. La sua estensione vocale si impone, infatti, in ogni gara. In questo periodo partecipa, inoltre, come corista e, talvolta, protagonista di alcune opere liriche. La notorietà a livello nazionale arriva però nel 2007, quando partecipa alla sesta edizione della trasmissione Mediaset “Amici” condotta da Maria de Filippi. Grazie a quest’opportunità Manuel riesce a raggiungere e conquistare il grande pubblico. La sua voce ha caratteristiche rare e particolari; si adatta bene a generi diversi anche se esprime il meglio di sé con melodie tipiche del pop americano. Durante la trasmissione Manuel si misura con successo con numerose cover di artisti internazionali come Stevie Wonder o R. Kelly; interpreta, inoltre, brani di cantanti italiani quali Lucio Dalla e Alex Baroni. Grazie alla scuola di “Amici”, Manuel può anche specializzarsi studiando discipline diverse dal canto, quali la recitazione e la danza: in questo modo il suo talento si cresce e si completa sempre più. Oltre che per le indiscusse doti artistiche, Manuel entra nei cuori dei telespettatori per il suo carattere corretto, aperto, dolce e sensibile. Queste qualità gli permettono, quindi, di ottenere il rispetto e la stima di tutti i docenti e compagni. Terminata l’esperienza televisiva, il singolo di Manuel, “Soli a metà ”, diventa una hit parade dell’estate 2007, mentre il cd “Bianco e Blu” in cui è contenuta riceve per due volte il disco d’oro.
