Luni Coleone & I-Rocc Present How The West Was Won Soundtrack buy CD music A native of Puerto Rico, Jose fell in love with the lush, romantic sounds of the harp at an early age.
As a teen, he began seriously studying harp with Jose Serrano. When he was 21 years old, he began studying with world renowned harpist Alfredo Rolando Ortiz. He became a regular at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan where he received rave notices from the music critics. Appearances at the esteemed La Fortaleza, the Puerto Rican Governor's State Residence as well as the Puerto Rican Center for the Performing Arts followed.
He was the guest Artist at a reception for Mikael Gorbachev, the former president of USSR, and the guest Artist at the International Governers reunion in P.R. He performed at the Ricky Martin Foundation, at the request of Ricky Martin, and has performed at events hosted by the President of BACARDI.
After moving to New York in 2005 to pursue his career, Jose made his night club debut at Danny\'s Skylight Room in November 2006 to sold out, wildly enthusiastic audiences.
He was named one of the top outstanding acts of the 2006 Theater Scene.
net and the Winner of a 2007 Back Stage Bistro Award.
Performances at The Museum of the City of New York, Lord and Taylor, Bloomindale's, Macy's, the Emigrant Saving Bank, Ronald MacDonald House and recently performed at the Rohatyn and Shorin Club at Carnegie Hall.
His repertoire includes classical, pop, Latin folk, Spanish tunes, Brazilian jazz, Broadway, and hits from the Great American Songbook. Some of his most requested improvisations include his own sweeping arrangements of many romantic classics including: "How Do You Keep the Music Playing," "Autumn Leaves", "Unforgettable" and a rich array of Latin Classics including such beloved songs as "Besame Mucho" and "Obsecion".
