An array of producers specializing in industrial music cover songs from Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory (2000). Razor-sharp remixes of radio favorites "Crawling" and "One Step Closer" highlight the album, as do other favorites such as "With You" and "In the End." ~ Jason Birchmeier

| Tribute To Linkin Park Music Tribute To Linkin Park Music Review Average Rating: (2.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews DONT BE FOOLED!!! I thought this album would be cool cus most tribute albums are fun to listen to. But it was just atrocious how they butchered these songs. I guess linkin park songs are pretty different and singing them and making the song work is hard for any other artist to duplicate.
Most of the groups are somewhat not mainstream. They're alirght but Linkin Park songs should have remixed or something to give this CD some edge.

Wow... This CD would've been more appropriately named "13 Reasons Why We're Still Underground" rather than being a tribute. It's mainly just a bunch of poorly remixed instrumentals from "Hybrid Theory" with its lyrics sounding like they're being read rather than sung. I was almost fooled that this CD wasn't a complete waste as I (somehow) managed to reach one of the last tracks, "One Step Closer". The lead singer actually sang the lyrics (very well, in fact) and the instrumental was familiar, but had it's own unique twist. Then the chorus came in and demolished all hope. Honestly, this seems like a parody more than anything else. Being underground isn't an excuse to be this bad, either. Where do you think a lot of these big named bands started, in the studio? Not Bad Well, the tribute album is not bad. It is WAY better than "In the chamber" 666 times over. As for the "A Gothic Acoustic Tribute To Linkin Park", its second place after this tribute. And "A Guitar Tribute To Linkin Park", its third place for a tribute after the gothic one. But this one is clearly the best one because they sound way better than the original singers. Also, "Reanimation" is ok BUT, since I really hate rap, and that album has alot of rap artist which I hate, then that album falls down to the dirt when they try to "Rap". All in all, this is the best "Tribute" to Linkin Park. Once again, from best to least, #1 Tribute, "A Tribute To Linkin Park", #2 Tribute, "A Gothic Acoustic Tribute To Linkin Park", #3 Tribute, "A Guitar Tribute To Linkin Park", #4 Tribute, "In The Chamber With Linkin Park". Tribute To Linkin Park songs
$15.75 Black Widow may have enjoyed a reasonably long and defiantly varied career. But to anyone who cares, they will be remembered for just one song, "Come to the Sabbat" -- not a hit single, but a standout on a cheapo label compilation in the early '70s, and destined to live on for decades after the band. Naturally, the accompanying Sacrifice album has bounced along in its wake, first as an increasingly expensive vinyl collectors' item, more recently as a regular on the CD reissue circuit, and here it comes again, this time bearing more primal Black Widow than you could ever have dreamed of hearing. Ultimate Sacrifice: One opens, naturally, with the original seven-song album. More fascinating, however, is the chance to hear five of the seven ("Way to Power" and "Attack of the Demon" are absent) in their original demo form, where they are revealed, if anything, to be even more dramatic than on the final vinyl. "In Ancient Days" in particular profits from the looseness of the performance, while "Come to the Sabbat" packs a feel of abandonment that makes the familiar version seem quite sedate. Of course, the bonus tracks are really only of interest if you truly worship the original record, and, once past "Come to the Sabbat," there probably aren't many people who feel that strongly. But the liners tell the band's tale well, the remastering is impressive, and if you're not doing anything next weekend, you might well want to drop by Black Widow's house. They've got somebody visiting, you know. [In 2004, Castle reissued Sacrifice on CD with five bonus tracks, retitling it Ultimate Sacrifice: One.] ~ Dave Thompson
