This is a great CD. It had all of the favorite songs of mine, which was hard to find in one CD, but this is the one, especially if you were a fan of the movie 'Lady sings the blues', alot of the songs sung in the movie by Diana Ross or on the CD, except they are sung by Billie herself.

 Billie Holiday was a true musical inspiration.
I used this CD as part of a Billie Holiday profile with my middle school chorus classes. They didn't appreciate the music at first until I helped them listen closely to the lyrics of songs like Strange Fruit and how it identifies their generation with Jena 6 or God Bless the Child and TAin't Nobody's Bizness If I do. These songs illustrate that yesterday and today's world is still the same, just a different way to communicating. The profile study ended with the students choosing one of her songs and designing a descriptive flower & paragraph to illustrate the mood of the lyrics. It was a great project.
