Following the success of Grand Theft Auto, developer Rockstar North takes gamers on a tour of a new city in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. With new sights, new characters, new (ahem) business opportunities, and even a whole new '80s themed era, players can indulge in more criminal fun than ever before. Vice City features more expansive locations, and over 120 vehicles ripe for the picking such as exotic cars, motorcycles, luxury yachts and planes. The soundtrack boasts three times the tunes compared to the previous GTA, and features countless '80s hits. Over 40 different weapons ensure effective firepower and provide enough variety for stylish defensive measures (samurai sword anyone?). Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Games Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Best Game Ever GTA: Vice City is the best game ever developed, giving the player the possibility to do "almost" anything he pleases, in a huge world run by money. Not only the game lets the player create caos as he wishes, but also gives him the chance to to climb the ladder of power, corruption and money that runs the city. Is a must-have! Besides the language, what's the fuss? In my day, we played cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers. More oft then not, our weapons were made out of sticks (out in the country, our parents didn't like us pointing cap guns at each other, but a stick was ok) and when we "shot" somebody, or got shot, they/we were just as "dead" as any poor sucker in "vice city"! But of course we knew back then, just as the vast majority of kids know today, that we, nor the "characters" in the "box", were/are dead. So what's the allure/rub on "vice city". I think there are three things: First, it's a "role" playing game (even if the roll is "deviant") AND it's fast paced. Second, like most humans, we all like to vicariously explore the "dark" "violent" and "forbidden" side of our existence from time to time. When we were younger, we had the Friday Night Fights and the occasional rumble on the school ground. And how many of us can truthfully deny engaging in the hot and heavies in the back seat of the family sedan. Today, if a kid shoves another kid in school he may get expelled, a single toke can land him/her in jail AND, God Forbid you get caught "smoking in the bathroom"! The point being kids need their "safe" releases probably even more today then we did back then. And the third reason . . . keeping up with the Jones's, baby. When we swept away the multitude of lame reasons that my kid just HAD to have that game, the most tears flowed when it finally came down to, What will my friends think if I have to tell them that my folks wouldn't let me get the game???
Let's get real folks neither "vice city" nor any other "game" is going to turn your kid into a fiend. It's going to get just as much attention as we the parents focus on it. Leave them alone and it will go in the same pile with the rest of the "must have" games of last year.
I don't play the game because there are just to many buttons to push to keep "alive" unless you're using cheat codes. But the kids seem to enjoy the pace and, you know, you may find some of the conversations you might have with your kids interesting, even if you just stand around and kibitz every now and then. That makes the rating at least 4 stars:) Submitted by a reviewer (Tecumseh, MI) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
This game is under my expectation! It is a really good game, but if you play San Andreas, you will be surprised!
There are a lot of challenges in each game. Submitted by canom (Brazil) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The holy grail of games This game is THE game. It is the only true game. This is how developers imagined games should be when Pong first started the games universe.
First of all, I must say that the missions are not easy, but they are all doable. You may have to try them once, twice, or even ten times, but you will be able to eventually do the missions.
Other than the missions, you can do almost anything in this amazing game. Jack cars, bikes, boats, helicopters, planes, punch people, shoot them, cut them up, stab them. You can buy property which either generates revenue for you or just provides a place to save and stores cars. You can pick up hookers. You can pull off wheelies and stoppies. You can buy pizza to get life. Collecting all 100 hidden packages around Vice City is a game in itself. I've spent three whole days and I still only have 70 out of 100. Put simply, this game is huge AND fun.
For people who have played GTA3 to death, don't listen to the others who say this game is simply like an expansion pack. I've beaten GTA3, finished the Import/Export garages, and did all the offroad missions. I've even learnt how to fly the Dodo, and I can tell you, Vice City is SOOOO much better than that game. You simply cannot get bored with this game. There is just soooo much to say about this game that I could write thousands of words about it, so I'll just stop at this.
Suffice it to say that if you have a PS2, then this game is a game you definitely should not miss. Buy it now. You owe it to yourself to do so. Submitted by a reviewer (Isa Town, Bahrain) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Hints Here's an ammo cheat for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Go to the Biker Bar (where you can do missions). Put your back to the front of it and run to your right and around the street corner. Then look to your left. You'll see a staircase leading up to a rooftop. There is Uzi 9mm ammo underneath it. There is also a shack that you can buy on the top of the roof. You can travel between the save point at the shack and the ammo as many times as you like, as right after you save, there is more ammo there again.
