Starring Drew Barrymore, James Woods, Alan King, Candy Clark, Robert Hays, Kenneth McMillan
Director Lewis Teague
An anthology of three Stephen King short stories, connected by a supernatural stray cat who wanders through each tale. Director's Commentary; Filmography. Stars Alan King, Candy Clark, Drew Barrymore, James Naughton, Kenneth McMillan, Robert Hays - Director: Lewis Teague

From the macabre imagination of Stephen King comes this trio of terrifying tales. In the first episode, a New York man has trouble giving up cigarettes. He turns to a shady self-help operation whose hotheaded owner outlines a litany of incrementally harsh penalties for those who cannot resist having another puff. The second story centers on Cressner, a mobster who works Atlantic City. His wife has been having an affair with a tennis pro, so Cressner forces the athlete to walk the ledge around his apartment high-rise. If the athlete can complete one lap along the overhang, he gets to be with Cressner's wife forever. A young girl, in the closing narrative, has difficulty sleeping. Though her parents suspect the family cat of wrongdoing, the girl knows better -- especially after she spots a foot-high troll coming out of her bedroom wall...

Three wry and shocking Stephen King short stories are linked by a stray cat which roams from one tale to the next. The stories feature James Woods attempting to quit smoking by any means necessary, Robert Hays being forced to circle a building's hazardous ledge, and Drew Barrymore threatened by a tiny gnome.

"Cat's Eye" began during the film adaptation of author Stephen King's "Firestarter," also a Dino De Laurentiis production. De Laurentiis solicited King to write another vehicle for actress Drew Barrymore. King returned with an idea about a girl and the pet cat that guards her from a mischievous troll. Because this material did not warrant a feature-length project, King adapted two short stories from his anthology "Night Shift" -- "Quitters, Inc." and "The Ledge" -- to comprise "Cat's Eye." Additional cast: Mary D'Arcy (Cindy). Filmed in J-D-C Widescreen. Color by Technicolor. Recorded in Dolby sound.

Cat's Eye Reviews:

"...Elements of Roald Dahl's urbane, unsentimental humor [mixed with King's]...affection for things magical and occult....A good deal of comic authority..." -- Vincent Canby, New York Times

"...An excellent roster of talent..." -- Har., Variety

"...The special effects are impeccable and Giorgio Postiglione's production design meticulous and inspired..." -- Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times

5 stars The movie is an Eye for a Cat's Eye!
The movie Stephen King's Cat's Eye is about a cat that travels from story to story until it gets to a girls house. The first story is Quitter's Inc. based on the short story that appears in Night Shift, about a man who has to stop smoking or he does, the consequences will be brutal. The second story is The Ledge, another short story from Night Shift. Story is about a man who has to go around a ledge in order to win a bet or he will be framed and go to prison. This story is very intense, it made me nervous. The last story is about a troll who battles the cat in a duel, if he losses then the little girl (Drew Barrymore) will be killed! During the movie, while the cat is traveling, you'll see special guest like Cujo, Christine, and a scene from Dead Zone. The movie was written by Stephen King, director was Lewis Teague, and the special graphics was done by a man named Jeff. The graphics in the movie is pretty cool, good job Jeff! Movie is worth renting and maybe buying, it's up to you!

5 stars A Classic Gem based on Stephen King Stories
I have just rented this movie recently and enjoyed it. Cat's Eye is a trio of "mini-movies" linked by a cat.The first to are well made adaptations of short stories from Stephen King's book:Nightshift. The first story is about a man(James Woods) who tries to quit smoking by joining a program called Quitters Inc. if he smokes the company will punish his family with an electric room. The second story is about a tennis player who must walk a ledge on a building that's very high up.The finale is about a little girl(Drew Barrymoore) who is protected from an evil troll by her cat. The whole movie was enertaining. Whatch for brief appearances of Cujo,Cristine,The Movie:The Dead Zone and other Stephen King relate things. Rent or buy this movie.

Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing. Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major role. He provides scorching solos, lush textures and juicy fills with a muscular tone and minimal effects--the perfect complements to Osbourne's songwriting. But more important than the raging guitars and the big sound is attitude. Ozzy's spunk has indeed rejected retirement. His songs still spew biting commentary at whoever will ...

THE OZZMAN COMETH is a single CD collection of hits, previously unavailable recordings and one new track. Previously included a limited edition second disc containing 2 of the 4 previously unavailable recordings as well as an interview with Ozzy Osbourne. As if we needed another reason to believe that Ozzy Osbourne is God, along comes THE OZZMAN COMETH, a double CD retrospective of one of the most enduring and influential figures in heavy metal. Consisting mostly of his post-Black Sabbath solo work as well as a live version of "Paranoid," this collection's biggest asset is the so-called "basement tapes," never-before-heard rehearsal tapes of four classic Sabbath songs. Dating back to 1970, "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs" are the songs that transformed a petty thief from Birmingham, England into the godfather of heavy metal. But if Sabbath cemented his place in the rock 'n' roll canon, his solo work raised him to legendary status. Working with former Quiet Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads, Osbourne set the tone for the 80's metal revival with songs like "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley." Capping off the collection is a seventeen minute interview with Ozzy from 1988, where he speaks frankly about the ups and downs in his career (parents be forewarned: this is not for the faint of ...

The fourth contribution to the grass roots Dogme 95 collective, THE KING IS ALIVE is a psychological horror film that uses a bleak yet beautiful African landscape to tell a haunting tale of human weakness and survival. The story concerns a group of vacationers who are traveling through the torturous Namibian desert. When they discover that the compass the driver, Moses (Vusi Kunene), has been using is actually broken, they quickly become terrified at the prospects of becoming stranded. This fear quickly turns into reality after the bus runs out of gas near a small abandoned village. The only resident, Kanana (Peter Khubeke), watches the foreigners slowly unravel with a resigned detachment. The travelers themselves--including the unhappily married couple Ray (Bruce Davison) and ...
