 Previously only heard in a harpsichod recording...
... I was transfixed by the energy and swing of the 50's recording, unlike anything else I've heard. Then to be able to listen to the recoding made just before he died, thirty-odd years later, at the end of an amazing musical life, was amazing. The emotional power of the aching first variation; repeated by Gould at the end of a recording that captures a master pianist at his most-practised in his art, and as experienced in life as he would ever be; delivered an emotional punch as music has not allowed me for some time. State of Wonder is an apt title for these recordings. The glory of Bach. Sublime.

 Glenn and Glenn - Wow
Remastered both versions of Glenn Gould's Goldberg Variations is like a dream. You could argue if his later version was better than his first, but their both wonderful. The later version, released just before he died, was the first CD I ever bought in 1985. It was great than, now it's better.
