5 stars Some Rare Jewels
This is a selection of some of the best-known songs performed traditionally by the Kaapse Klopse, mostly of Malay descent, especially during New Year in Cape Town. I have searched quite a long time for a good selection of this type of music. I was definitely not disappointed. The songs are in Afrikaans, Dutch and one in English. Of great interest to me are the few songs sung in Dutch, i.e. Rosa, Ons Prinsje nou so klein and others suggesting that these songs are probably very old.
