MOODY , DARK STONES CLASSIC.
It is interesting to read the reviews listed here, mostly comparing T.S.M.R. to Sgt. PEPPER. I would suggest the true pairing would be T.S.M.R. and MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR.

Much too underrated
Their satanic majesties request is a very much underrated album. I must admit I didn't like it very much in the beginning (1967)either and that it took some time to start to like it.

The truth
A lot of people keep saying the stones put this album out because of the beatles sgt. pepper, NOT TRUE! Decca and parlephone had an agreement where they would alternate releasing new material by both bands to milk as much money as they could from the public but someone at decca told parlephone about their satanic majesty, that's when it was decided to release sgt.

Esoteric, but the Best Stones I ever Heard
I was not a RS fan, mostly because most of the stuff I'd heard up until now was very much aligned with pop - they were catering to a very different audience and their music was 'accessible'.

GREAT PSYCH ALBUM
The Stones reply to Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's ? ... NO WAY ! ... this is a good psych album in its own right, a musical product of its era when psychedelia seemed to be the right path to follow.
