deceptive recordings/labeling be aware! here again we have a cd not labeled as to the true content.5 of the 11 songs are overblown studio re-recordings, done in 1988, of the original earlier (and better) versions. why would i want these songs, the originals were the hits, and the ones i remember, not these. By a reviewer ("san clemente ca")
No Boingo I personally was familiar with only five songs on this album. They on their other greatest hits packages, had not included the right number of songs, or the right songs. By a reviewer (Palm Springs, CA - USA)
IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY BOINGO... this is a great album, but any album by oingo boingo is great. i was pleasantly surprised to see that they included 'violent love', which has only appeared on their first EP before 'only a lad' and 'boingo alive'. By theshortncurlies (THOUSAND OAKS, CA, U.S.A.)

Elton John Greatest Hits 1970-2002 CDs (2002) Top Seller
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Oingo Boingo songs Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc.
Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini.
Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. ...

Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Top Seller
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Oingo Boingo buy CD music Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), blues great Big Mama Thornton ("Hound Dog"), and country titan Hank Snow ("[Now And Then There's] A Fool Such As I"). Further testimony of Presley's long-lasting appeal is the inclusion of the JXL Radio Edit Remix of "A Little Less Conversation," a UK #1 that not only enabled Elvis to have more chart-toppers than The Beatles, but also became a hit in a number of other countries including the United States.

Flogging Molly Swagger CD (2000)
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Oingo Boingo album for sale Nothing like a traditional Irish band from California. All cynicism aside, Flogging Molly's hybrid of street punk and pub-rock is a ruckus of punch-drunk energy. Combining the folk of the Pogues with an Oi! blast by way of the Dropkick Murphys, their debut full-length Swagger provides a brew of rowdy party music that's perfect for any barroom brawl. ~ Mike DaRonco

Madness Ultimate Collection CD (2000)
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Oingo Boingo CD music Recorded between 1979 and 1985. Includes liner notes by Sara Cody.
Inevitably, if one calls one's compilation Ultimate Collection, you're going to have some smug journalist replying, "Ultimate collection? I think not." Then again, Madness chalked up quite an impressive list of hits, and even at a generous 19 tracks, this album couldn't fit them all. So then it's down to choices. Chart placement obviously wasn't a factor, or "Driving in My Car," a British Top Five, would be here and "Yesterday's Men," a lowly number 18, wouldn't, while A- sides would not have been supplanted by their flips. Sometimes listeners get both, as with "Tomorrow's (Just Another Day)" and its B-side "Madness (Is All in the Mind)." But best of all, we're offered the original 45 take, not the album versions later most fans are now familiar with. Thus their debut single "The Prince" comes in its singular robes, not its album garb, as does its flip "Madness." August 1985's "Yesterday's Men" is the latest release of the lot, although the group knocked out three more singles before splitting. Inevitably, though, the tracks are not in chronological order, but since the earliest songs are wisely placed at the beginning, this doesn't particularly irritate. Helpfully, the track listing provides both release dates and UK chart placements, part of a copious booklet which includes a well-researched biography and photographs that complete the sumptuous packaging. The true ultimate collection is the box set that gathers up all the group's A- and B-sides, plus a bumper crop of rarities, but if that's just too much Madness, this will probably suit better. ~ Jo-Ann Greene
Digitally remastered by Jim Phillips (Universal Mastering).
Compilation producer: Dana G. Smart.
Madness: Graham McPherson (vocals); Chris Foreman (guitar); Lee Thompson (tenor & baritone saxophones, background vocals); Cathal Smyth (horns, background vocals); Mike Barson (keyboards); Mark Bedford (bass); Dan Woodgate (drums, percussion).

Paul Oakenfold Bunkka CD (2002)
20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Oingo Boingo songs The wide-ranging, freewheeling modes of BUNKKA (the name comes from Peter Gabriel's studio in the UK, where the album was recorded) are comparable with the catchall stylings of Paul Oakenfold's fellow dance enthusiast, Moby. So it should come as little surprise to anyone who followed Oakenfold's career over the pervious decade that he's come up with an album that's at least as eclectic as anything the aforementioned techno elf had produced lately.
Oakenfold is best known as a dance remix artist, whose credits also include producing Happy Mondays' best-selling PILLS 'N' THRILLS & BELLYACHES and remixing tracks for U2. So the inclusion of several guitar-heavy tracks, plus a guest appearance from Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, should raise few eyebrows, but it's with dance-flavored cuts such as "Southern Sun" and "Ready Steady Go" that he appears most at home. While his inspiration obviously comes from reworking other artists' tracks, he takes a good stab at constructing (and deconstructing) his own efforts, aided by guest appearances from Tricky, Nelly Furtado, and Ice Cube, whose "Get 'Em Up" is one of the high points here. While Oakenfold's talents as an original artist may be limited, on BUNKKA he makes the most of his alchemical abilities, and the results are occasionally stellar.
Bunkka is Oakenfold's genuine debut as an artist - emphasizing his roots in rock and hip-hop - this is not a DJ album. Guest artists include Nelly Furtado & Tricky, Ice Cube, Perry Farrell, Grant lee Phillips, Hunter S. Thompson, and more. This audio CD also contains multi-media which is playable on most computers. 2002.
