With their self-titled debut, Theory Of A Deadman became the flagship act for Nickelback's label 604. Another fringe benefit came by way of the SPIDERMAN soundtrack, where this Canadian quartet's "Invisible Man" not only appeared, but the band's guitarist Tyler Connolly was invited to team up with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger on the mega-hit "Hero." Kroeger further helped out by co-writing half of the material on Theory Of A Deadman's debut. In a quest to "appeal to 16-year-old girls as well as 35-year-old guys," Connolly steeps most of his subject matter in the muck and mire of love while tending a garden of crunchy riffs and pounding rhythms.
Songs like "Nothing Could Come Between Us" and the chugging bittersweet "Point To Prove" switch from devotion to devastation on a dime while the squalling "What You Deserve" strikes a pose of defiance in the face of a flamed-out relationship. Aside from the introspective and anti-suicide "The Last Song," Theory Of A Deadman keeps it basic for fans looking for a fix between Nickelback and Creed albums.

Theory Of A Deadman Music Theory Of A Deadman Songs Theory Of A Deadman Music Theory Of A Deadman Music Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) All show and very little go. After having heard the radio hit these guys have, expectations were very high. As explained by countless others in their reviews, this band is a cross between Creed, Nickelback and Tantric. However, even though, by their signature sound you can tell they're great musicians, sadly they are not good songwriters. The whole Album drags along like an old man shuffling his feet, only picking up for the second track, and then falling into obscurity again. Altogether, the material just plain lacks melody, which is something no band can survive without, and makes you think of the songs that Creed would discard from their album listing on grounds of "not enough oomph". My suggestion to you is get the single. The rest of the album is not worth the money or the effort of listening to it. Submitted by a reviewer (Beaufort, SC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Chad Kroeger Does It Again, The Next Nickelback? This band will be around for awhile with hits like "Nothing Could Come Between Us", "Invisible Man", and "Make Up Your Mind". "Invisible Man" was one of the bright spots featured on the Spider Man Soundtrack. Chad Kroeger does another great job, as he did with "Default" getting this band out there for people to hear. You never know, this band may reach the status of Nickelback one day. They have a great foundation, adn their mix of heavy with the ballads makes this CD complete. If you like Nickelback and Default, this is a must-buy. Submitted by a reviewer (Slidell, La. USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
This album needed help (helm) from Chad Kroeger Only Last Song & Confession make my cut. You can go two ways - love em or hate em. You can try Default for creativity. Submitted by skank992002 (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Theory Of A Deadman album
$15.05 Like Stone Temple Pilots, Theory of a Deadman is a pop band at heart, often singing about love and relationships gone wrong over a wide variety of musical textures. "No Surprise" employs an old-school 1970s-rock shuffle beat, while "Hello Lonely ...
| | Dan Castellaneta Two Lips: The Lost Album CD (2000)
Theory Of A Deadman CD music
$8.55 Dan Castellaneta provides the voices for various characters on The Simpsons.
His name appears nowhere on the album cover, but Two Lips: The Lost Album is by Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Dan Castellaneta -- who, yes, has a day job as the voice of about one-third of the cast of The Simpsons, but that's not relevant here. Two Lips: The Lost Album is an affectionate pastiche of '60s sunshine pop, like a version of the Rutles that takes the post-Pet Sounds flood of semi-psychedelic bubblegum (both U.S. and U.K. versions) as its source material. The most surprising thing about these 14 songs is that they're all really good: seriously, but for the lack of surface crackle, tunes like "Rainbow Colored Cloud" and "Ostrich Avenue" could slip onto any of that perpetual flood of CDs of obscure lost '60s singles that collectors salivate over. Sometimes it veers a little too close to parody -- "Take a Little Time" is a spot-on re-creation of one of Paul McCartney's music hall ditties, but Castellaneta's choice to sing it in something very close to McCartney's "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" voice makes it feel just a touch mean-spirited -- yet he clearly knows this kind of music backwards and forwards, and the overall tone is genuinely loving. It certainly helps that he got the right people to help out: luminaries of the L.A. pop underground like Jon Brion, Buddy Judge, Probyn Gregory, and Ric Menck are on the guest list. Two Lips: The Lost Album is more for the We Can Fly crowd than the average Simpsons fan, but fans of the style will likely adore this album. ~ Stewart Mason

| | Rakim 18th Letter/The Book Of Life CDs (1997)
Theory Of A Deadman music CDs
$15.09 Lyrically, Rakim is the one rapper who defies comparison. His recordings with Eric B. have had a lasting impact on hip-hop culture, and he is arguably the best MC ever to wield a microphone. After a four-year hiatus, Rakim is back with his first solo album, THE 18TH LETTER: BOOK OF LIFE. A double-CD that features one disc of greatest hits and one of new material, this release puts Rakim back in the game once again.
The greatest hits disc provides a Hip-Hop 101 course, establishing the essential components of the genre that Rakim has mastered. On the new cuts, he continues to school listeners. He's paired here with some of hip-hop's hottest producers, including DJ Premier, DJ Clark Kent & Pete Rock. And while Rakim has stepped up the production, his lyrical content hasn't changed much, and is still far more complex than that of ...

| | William Hung Hung For The Holidays CD (2004)
Theory Of A Deadman album
$5.95 Believe it or not, William Hung had more time to record his holiday album -- the oh so cleverly titled Hung for the Holidays -- than he did his full-fledged debut, Inspiration, which was kicked out in a matter of weeks while American Idol was in the midst of its third season. He and his producers -- executive producer Dee "Pitboss" Sonaram and producer Giuseppe D., who both need to be singled out by name, since blame has to be assigned -- could have used this time to create backing tracks that sounded a little fuller, since that would mean that Hung for the Holidays would have sounded at least like karaoke instead of a Casio set on automatic. This is the cheapest-sounding record in recent memory; it sounds as if it was recorded in less time that it takes to play. And the weirdest thing about it is that Hung has gotten better as a vocalist in the six months that separate Inspiration and Hung. Make no mistake, he ain't good, but he sings with more confidence and at least vaguely sings something resembling the melody. ...
