| | Cranberries Stars: The Best Of 1992-2002 CD Cranberries Discography of CDs
(9 Customer Reviews)
STARS is a collection containing several different single versions, new edits and 2 previously unreleased tracks.
After hitting the top of the U.S, alternative charts with their debut album, EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT SO WHY CAN'T WE?, with its inescapable hit singles "Dreams" and "Linger," the Cranberries could easily have carved out a career staying with that initial sound, one that came off like a much more commercial version of the Cocteau Twins. That they didn't do, instead introducing their second album with a harsh political protest song called "Zombie" that perhaps lost them some sales but spoke well of their artistic ideals. STARS: THE BEST OF THE CRANBERRIES 1992-2002 is a solid overview of the Irish group's singles from throughout their career, from the early hits to worthy later gems such as "This Is The Day." STARS: THE BEST OF THE CRANBERRIES 1992-2002 was also released in a limited-edition version that added a DVD of music videos and other material.

Essential For Any Music Collection! All the hits are here on one cd for an AWESOME price!!! This is the coolest Cranberries cd yet because it contains every single released, plus album favorites & they even took an online vote before releasing the album for us (the fans) to vote on our favorite "non-single" & that is why "Daffodil Lament" was included, I mean, how cool is that! Breathtaking! I love the Cranberries - they are always writing about the betterment of humankind.
This is music at its finest.
The Cranberries have been a true contribution to what music should be and what seldom is.

Cranberries I don't like all the songs on this CD, that is a rarity and a treasure as you all know. But there is enough great music here to be highly satisfied.
Zombie is my favorite song, so far, on this CD. The lyrics are very insteresting and the vocals of the lead singer are great.
Good stuff here! Submitted by emwolb (Santa Clarita, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$11.45 Singer-Songwriter Yola grew up in a small town outside of Lublin, Poland. She started singing and performing publicly at age 13 in the school choir, and during high school played many concerts and festivals, winning several vocal contests. Yola joined a music group called "Medic" where she was lead vocalist, and also played with an instrumental group from the private music school, playing guitar. While continuing her studies, Yola received great classical training by touring with one of the most prestigious choirs in Poland, Academic Choir KUL. With this ensemble Yola got her first experience recording for TV and radio. After graduating from both the Catholic University of Lublin (psychology) and the Maria Curie University in Lublin (department of fine arts), with a desire to further her education in music and to follow her passion to sing, Yola came to the United States. In New York City she trained in R & B, studying privately with Dee Jackson, background singer with Patti LaBelle. Yola also took classes with Judy Hages, an instructor specializing in the style of Broadway musicals, and studied with writer Bell Chevigny, to help compose lyrics in English.Yola co-wrote with Romuald Lipko (from the group Budka Sufler) a few songs that were recorded by singer Michael Hochman. One of these songs reached the number one position in reported airplay for three weeks in Canada. She also sang the title song for an independent Asian/American film called "Destiny," directed by Louis Zalu. While continuing to sing with local bands in the New York area, performing at clubs, festivals, and charity events, Yola found employment in TV and Radio, acting as journalist for public TV's WNYE, as well as becoming a popular radio host on WRKL ...

Stars: The Best Of 1992-2002 CD music
$41.39 Fabrizio De André was in many ways already a seasoned veteran when he released his first album in 1967. He was 27 years old, he had a wife and child, and he had been writing and recording singles for the small Karim label since 1961. While recognition took a while, by late 1966 De André was hot news. His last singles had done well, Mina was about to record one of his songs, and Karim was quick to put out an LP compilation of his early songs, Tutto Fabrizio De André. In the meantime, De André broke with Karim and signed a record deal with renowned producer Antonio Casetta, who offered him much better production values, as well as proper national distribution. De André was even given his choice of musical producers, and he picked top Ricordi arranger Giampiero Reverberi. Casetta's gamble paid off, with V.1 reaching number two in the Italian charts, and winning the Italian Music Critics' Album of the Year award. Since most of his early material was being released almost simultaneously in the Karim compilation, De André was forced to write entirely new material for his debut album -- something that didn't always came easy for the hardly prolific Genovese songwriter. Indeed, V.1 included two Georges Brassens translations and a previously released song co-written with Paolo ...
