Return Music Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) Not Quite Fudge, But Still Good When I ordered this, I did not realize that Mark Stein was not included in the lineup -- an oversight on my part, I guess. While I miss his voice on this recording, Bill Pascali fills in nicely for Mark, and the sound is just about what I would have expected aside from the absence of Mark's exceptional vocal quality.
I wish more bands from yester-year would reunite and just re-record some of their better tracks like this. I highly recommend this album for all Fudge Fans. It is sort of like a journey back in time, but with better recording quality than on the reissues of their old recordings... Submitted by a reviewer (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) Was This Review Helpful? Quality recording This is fantastic stuff, recording and audio quality are fantastic. They really put out a better quality representation of their early classics on this disc. Submitted by normbach (KCMO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
I didn't want it this way ...what a gimmick. Un-original attempt to do something. This could have been really special & unique if they didn't pride themselves on being a band they never were. Enough w/the Do Ya Think I'm Sexy.... you did that w/Rod Stewart, Carmine.... & that's not even a good song. Submitted by El Robbo (Bayonne, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? A cold return Vanilla Fudge is back (again). But their return on cd is not the best way to remind how great they were. This album have, basically, re-recordings of their 60s hits with a heavier sound, and nothing of the imagination of their classic albums. Bill Pascalli sings the song (not Mark Stein, their classic voice)... the rest of the band are original members. Submitted by PkP (Malaga, Spain) Was This Review Helpful? Purchase Return CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Paul Butterfield Blues Band CD (1965)
Return
$6.19 The '60s Blues Revival begins here. Calling this album influential is an understatement akin to calling the Grand Canyon a rut; suffice to say that an entire generation of musicians (mostly young and white) heard this and had their lives changed forever. In fact, for at least a year after the album's release in 1965, it was impossible ...

| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Return
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, ...
| | Porcupine Tree In Absentia CD (2002)
Return
$8.59 There's a breed of (post-1980s) bands with the same degree of grand rock experimentalism as Pink Floyd and Yes, who simultaneously adhere to the concept of concise songwriting. Porcupine Tree is one such band--their sound is a balance of lush ambient textures, charming vocal harmonies, rock & roll directness, and acoustically- and electronically-generated sounds. Their debut IN ABSENTIA shows all these elements in place, rich with the likely possibility of them becoming a contemporary counterpart to Pink Floyd.
Hailed by Billboard as 'cinematic...simple gorgeous', Porcupine Tree are unquestionably one of the UK's most inspired and inventive rock groups. In Absentia is their eagerly anticipated Lava Records debut. Digipak. 2002.

| | Gov't Mule Deja Voodoo CD (2004)
Return
$7.99 DEJA VOODOO serves as a comeback for Gov't Mule, who lost founding member Allen Woody in August 2000. Bandmates Warren Haynes and Matt Abts carried on with a search to fill Woody's shoes, and this led to live recordings featuring guest bassists on each cut. This studio outing welcomes the arrival of former Black Crowes bass player Andy Hess and keyboardist Danny Louis, whose entry transforms the Mule into a quartet, upping the creative potential for all involved.
Being the consummate musician that he is, Haynes guides this potent ensemble down a wide-ranging path. Wielding ...
| | Dredg Catch Without Arms CD (2005)
Return
$8.49 Early on, critics often described Dredg as a metal group. However, the quartet has since matured into a hard-edged indie-rock ensemble that seeks diversity and refinement in its music. On CATCH WITHOUT ARMS, the band favors highly orchestrated parts, dense guitar riffs, and powerful drumming. Each ...
| | Siouxsie & The Banshees Rapture CD (1995) Import
Return
$12.19 RAPTURE is the 1995 release by Siouxsie & The Banshees includes "O Baby," "Tearing Apart," and "Sick Child," and was produced with the Velvet Underground's John Cale.
Rapture is an ironic title, considering that this would be Siouxsie and the Banshees' last album, which is sad. Sad because the Banshees, one of the survivors of the English punk scene, went out with a whisper instead of roaring howl like they should have. Half of The Rapture is produced by Velvet Underground alumnus and art rock pioneer John Cale, while Siouxsie and her Banshees take control of the other half. Cale should have been nowhere near this album. While the Banshees-produced tracks sound like their vintage stuff, the Cale tracks stretch the Banshees' sound too thin. Siouxsie and the Banshees were at their best when they were doing things their way, and The Rapture is living proof that the Banshees succeeded because they never tried to fit into conventional musical structures. An ill-fitting goodbye. ~ Chris True
It would have been easy to write off the Banshees after the so-so Superstition, especially given the fact that it came after two uneven and disappointing albums (including the unnecessary covers collection Through the Looking Glass) Frankly, one of punk's most consistently invigorating acts seemed to have run their course. Sure enough, The Rapture proved to be their final recording. The surprise is that it's a career highpoint. The band deny, incidentally, ...
