This contains as bonus material the EP 100 MILES AND RUNNIN'.
Though original NWA member Ice Cube would be well on his way to a successful solo career, Easy E would later pass away from AIDS, and Dr. Dre would be a year or so away from rolling out THE CHRONIC, 1991's NIGGAZ4LIFE is still a terrific collection of street gems. There is no denying the ruggedness of tracks like "Real Niggaz Don't Die," "Alwayz Into Somethin'," and the title track. Having Dr. Dre behind the boards with DJ Yella makes for a slamming combination of energy and grit. Though this album would be NWA's last as a group, it helped NWA strengthen the role the group played in bringing West Coast-style hip-hop to the masses. Some of the other tracks to check out are "Appetite for Destruction," "Real Niggaz," and the comic-sexual "She Swallowed It." NIGGAZ4LIFE is a classic.

Niggaz4life music CDs
$11.39 Released only a month after Straight Outta Compton (1988), Eazy-Duz-It was the first N.W.A spin-off album. Years before Ice Cube went solo with Amerikkka's Most Wanted (1990), before Dr. Dre changed the rap game with The Chronic (1992), before MC Ren struggled to establish himself with Shock of the Hour (1993), and before Yella simply fell into obscurity, Eazy-E rose to immediate superstar status with this solo debut. It's no wonder why, for the album plays like a humorous, self-centered twist on Straight Outta Compton with Eazy-E, the most charismatic member of N.W.A, front and center while his associates are busy behind the scenes, producing the beats and writing the songs. In terms of production, Dr. Dre and Yella meld together P-Funk, Def Jam-style hip-hop, and the leftover electro sounds of mid-'80s Los Angeles, creating a dense, funky, and thoroughly unique style of their own. In terms of songwriting, the D.O.C., Ice Cube, and MC Ren are each credited; plus, Ren performs raps of his own on five of the 12 songs. The collaborative nature ...
| | Ice Cube Amerikkka's Most Wanted CD (1990) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Niggaz4life songs
$10.59 As one of the MCs in the classic crew NWA, Ice Cube made a name for himself at an early age, helping to pioneer West Coast hip-hop. Ironically though, Cube's debut solo album, AMERIKKKA'S MOST WANTED, is deep-rooted in fast-paced tracks that are reminiscent of the East Coast sound that help define Public Enemy. In fact, it was the Bomb Squad who produced most of the album. Tracks like "The ...

Niggaz4life songs
$15.85 Though very Momus (whom Stars count as a fan) circa Voyager, Heart is much more twee pop despite similar keyboards and electronics. Stars work with bittersweet grooves, sleepy singing, and analog gurgles -- which makes for a charming collection of electronic chamber pop. More New Order and Saint Etienne than Smiths, and with male and female vocals, the band comes across as an electro-pop Belle & Sebastian. Still, most of the songs lack the immediate hook of their folky counterparts. Stars songs tend to unfold more slowly, from the brilliant retro-futuristic "Death to Death" to the disco-lite Pet Shop Boys-styled "The Vanishing." Amy Millan's gorgeous voice is the group's greatest strength -- on the bouncy, propulsive "Elevator Love Letter," for example. It's not surprising that ...
| | Old School Soul Party CDs (2005) Box Set
Niggaz4life album
$41.69 Another entry in Shout! Factory's ongoing series of triple-CD box compilations promoted on PBS, this one is more cohesively presented. Sequenced to flow like a typical party, the discs of this predominantly '70s-era 58-track R&B collection are divided into three connected parts. Starting with the high-energy sounds of Wild Cherry's one-hit wonder "Play That Funky Music," disc one (subtitled "Kickin' It Off") continues with tough funk hits from Cameo, Rick James, Parliament, and James Brown. Mercifully dodging the disco bullet save for Donna Summer's "Last Dance," this nonstop funkathon platter is alone worth the price of admission. Adding different sounds such as the Undisputed Truth's slightly trippy "Smiling ...

Niggaz4life songs
$13.15 While Michael Chapman has often worked with other musicians on his recordings over the course of his lengthy career, on his 2008 release Time Past Time Passing, only his guitar and voice are heard. The self-produced album is more impressive for the quality of his instrumental work than it is for his occasional vocals -- which almost sound like an afterthought ...
