BACKGROUND:***************Originally formed as a duo in 1998 by Dan Hutchison (vocals/guitars) and multi-instrumentalist Brian Wiksell, WHY MAKE CLOCKS soon released a 7" EP, "the Transient Swivel". The groundwork laid by the EP eventually led WMC to incorporate various line-ups for live performances and recording projects, including the 2002 debut album, "Fifteen Feet and Twenty Degrees". The band has a completed new album, "Midwestern Film" (also available through CD BABY as well as the digital only EP "Ego Reflector". ***************WHY MAKE CLOCKS: PERSONELL/INSTRUMENTATION for this record was:DAN HUTCHISON-vocals, guitars, farfisa, loops, bassBRIAN WIKSELL-piano, organs, tympani, accordion, guitar, vibes, harmonica, e-bowsKARL SIEMERS-guitarsBOONIE-bassLEE BISSMEYER-drumsLyrics for this CD can be found on our website by clicking the link on the left side of this pageRecorded/Engineered and Mixed by AJ MOGIS (Criteria/Lullaby for the Working Class/Bright Eyes/etc.) @ Presto! Fifteen Feet & Twenty Degrees music CDs
$17.35 Compilation of 30 rare girl-group tunes, almost all from the early and mid-'60s, though a couple from the late '60s sneak in. Truth to tell, this is an inoffensive but hardly inspiring compilation of a genre that produced innumerable great records, both famous and obscure. The two famous cuts -- Claudine Clark's "Party Lights" and The Donays' "Devil In His Heart" (covered by The Beatles on their second album) -- are readily available elsewhere, in better company. Otherwise, there are rare, flop singles, as well as some unissued tracks, by the likes of Earline & Her Girlfriends, Lorraine & The Delights, ...

$9.59 The music of New York City based singer/songwriter Marc Alter can be described as poetry & philosophy set against a collage of folk, rock, blues & classical sounds. The search for beauty in life is the catalyst for songs that tell stories colored with dark shades of unrequited love, longing, alienation, as well as social & political injustice. Born in Central Long Island, Marc was brought up on the music of Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, The Beatles, Neil Young & Pink Floyd, Neil Young/CSNY, Cat Stevens, The Velvet Underground, & the Doors. Current influences include Elliot Smith, Radiohead, Ben Harper. After attending ...
