BEHIND THE MUSIC was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album.
Even before the Swedish rock invasion hit the US full-force in 2002, the Soundtrack Of Our Lives was making waves. While the careless are quick to lump them in with their neo-garage countrymen, it's vital to note that SOOL, led by singer-songwriter Ebbot Lundberg, are far beyond that. While they do knock out some zesty, old-school rock guitar riffs, these Swedes bear more noticeable echoes of late-'60s Pink Floyd, Who, Stones, and Beatles. In other words, they've managed the previously impossible task of making a new "classic rock" record that somehow sounds completely fresh. Sophisticated production and songwriting are the rule, whether the band is engaging in psychedelic ballads, driving rockers, or Badfinger-like power pop.

Soundtrack Of Our Lives Behind The Music Songs Behind The Music Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Album of the year!!! I was just happening to read the nominees for Alternative Album of the year for the Grammys when I spotted this album from a band I never heard of. As you can guess I bought the album the next day and WOW!!! This album is just awesome. I've rated a lot of albums on this website and this is the first one i've given 5 stars for. It's packaged perfectly in the amount of good ol' rock tunes to the mellower tunes. But without a doubt, the rockier ones stand out more(even though i'm personally a mellow type of guy.) I was air-guitaring through this whole album. I'm only 19, and I played this c.d for my Dad (who's a big Beatles/Stones/Zeppelin, etc. fan) and he loves it. Every time I look for it, it's always in my Dad's cd player.
Anyways, if you're a rock/alternative fan like me, "Soundtrack of our Lives" is a MUST HAVE in anyones collection from 19 years old to 50 years old.
This album should not only win alternative album of the year, but it should have been nominated for best album of the year for all categories, and should have won that too! Submitted by g-mac (Brantford, ON, Can) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Late 60's throwback This Swedish group (they sing in Englis)
could have been from the late 60's psychedlic era. The songs are tight with real drums and no exotic elctronic enhancement. They reminded me a lot of the Beatles later sound. A refreshing change of pace. Submitted by a reviewer (Norfolk NE) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Before the Hives, there was Soundtrack of our Lives Randy Newman listens to nothing but XTC records for six months straight, and then forms a rock band. With a little James thrown in. Brilliant! Like a Swedish Beatles. Swedles. Submitted by a reviewer (dorset, vt, usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Behind The Music CD music
$12.69 The story of Remnant starts in earnest in 2003. Arash Davari and Adam Shockley were roommates at the time and both played guitar for their church, leading worship for the college ministry. Over time, Arash and Adam started writing music together, jamming on the tunes with the college worship band. Then in the spring of 2003 Arash and Adam decided to start taking their music more seriously and start performing outside of the college ministry. Thus began their search for a drummer and bassist.Enter: Nathan Harwell. Prodigious drummer, perennial cool guy, and perpetually shrouded in mystery. After the other guys in the college band had expressed their disinterest in pursuing a music career, Arash and Adam asked Nathan to fill the drummer spot. Serendipitously, Nathan had just quit drumming for another band and was available to jam with the boys; chemistry came instantly. With Arash on lead guitar, Adam on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, and Nathan now on drums, the band took a suggestion from a friend and decided to call themselves Remnant. All that remained was finding a bassist, but little did they know their search would take them through three interim bassists and two years before they found their man (who, incidentally, was literally right ...
