Correction
For the review above, I had wanted to give it 5 stars, not 3.

SUPERB!
Perahia is today's Horowitz - minus a lot of Horowitz's moodiness. Horowitz played how he felt that day. Perahia is ALWAYS on the music - putting it before his moods. I don't think he's ever recorded something he didn't love or wasn't great at. The technique alone is awesome - and just the starting point. Throw every piano CD's away and keep everything played by Horowitz and Perahia....... This album is a desert island disc. Not bad for dessert, either...... Just listen to the first track - a somewhat gimickey arpeggiated etude, made noble and majestic by Perahia.

FINGER EXERCIES by a MASTER
Etude is French for finger exercise, after hearing this recording you dread what the "real" peices are! Murray Perahia as perfected Chopin's music. There is not greater performance!
