(1 Customer Review)
Hailing from Columbus, OH, Everyday Sunday is a band whose debut disc drips with Midwest flavoring. The band utilizes a sound that's predominantly driven by a guitar attack and the apt vocal stylings of Trey Pearson. Cuts like "Would You Leave" and "Mess With Your Mind" are fine examples of hooky power pop melodies that tend to stick in your craw. With cuts like"Wait" and "Lose It Again" the band kicks into overdrive with heavier vocals and an intense rhythmic attack that drives each tune nicely. While about half the disc offers a landscape of pop/rock ventures, the other half treats the listener to a lighter fare of gems à la the Gin Blossoms or Toad the Wet Sprocket. Songs like "Stand Up" and "Hanging On" find the band pulling back the throttle while layered guitars give way to the emotionally potent vocals of Pearson. Stand Up is the type of release that may earn Everyday Sunday New Artist of the Year nods. It's an opus that offers cut after cut of soulful, poignant lyrics and a musical bedrock that fills the senses. ~ Steven Douglas Losey

Stand Up album
$9.79 On their second release for Flicker Records, Anthems for the Imperfect, Everyday Sunday flexes their chops on a disc with musical muscle to spare. Guitar-wise the disc is brimming with the two-guitar attack of Andrew Martin and Jason Siemer as they riff effectively through cuts like "I Wish I Could Say" and "Something." There is more potent guitar playing on this release then most currently coming out of the genre. Vocally, Trey Pearson was born to sing straightforward rock & roll. The sincerity he brings to "I Won't Give Up" is genuine. There are high points all throughout the disc. Check out the anthemic groove of "Bring It ...
| | Red End Of Silence CD (2006)
Stand Up CD music
$10.05 The debut album by alternative CCM act Red, END OF SILENCE blends impassioned but not preachy lyrics with heavy alt-rock in a vein that's similar to nu-metal acts like Linkin Park and Evanescence. Singer Mike Barnes's better than average voice and thoughtful lyrics are the band's strongest points, but the group provides a massive rock wallop on tracks like "Breathe into Me" and Let Go."

| | Stryper In God We Trust CD (1988)
Stand Up album
$8.49 Unquestionably Stryper's strongest and most rockin' album, To Hell with the Devil was a tough act to follow. Instead of following it up with something equally intense, the band stressed its pop side on In God We Trust. Though not quite as big a seller as To Hell with the Devil, the album quickly went gold and fell short of platinum. In God isn't a terrible album by any means, and it does have its moments (most notably, "Come to the Everlife" and "The Writing's on the Wall"), but some of the other material isn't very memorable. Quite often, Stryper sounds like just another MTV-friendly arena rock band. More devoted Stryper ...
