1930's Peg LaCentra sings with a unique voice
After hearing Pe LaCentra on an old casette, I was curious for more! Her style and singing voice is so unique, it is almost like no other voice of her time. The fact that she enuciates so clearly her words, is also very unique. I personally like Disc 1 the best, with all the early 30's stuff on it. My favorites are Frost on the Moon, Darling Not Without You, South Sea Island Magic, Moon Face, and Sweet is the Word for You. Disc 2 is good, like Blue Grass and the movie songs like, The Man I Love and See You In My Dreams, but you can tell the style changes into the 40's. I just personally like the early 30's stuff and I would recomend it for any Artie Shaw jazz vocal/Big Band collector!
