With early memories of his uncle (Louis Anthony McCall, 1951-1997) on stage as the drummer for Con Funk Shun, one of the most popular funk bands of the 70’s and 80’s, M-Dash’s destiny has always been music. Influenced and coached by his mentor, Mac Dre (1970-2004), M-Dash has the innate ability to write not only light and humorous lyrics, but also deep and thought-provoking prose. His voice, lyrics and persona are not only appealing to local Bay Area and California rap music lovers, but to national and international fans as well. This is evidenced by his growing sales and increasing fan base – sales have done particularly well in the Northwest, the Southwest, Northern California and Japan.Born and raised in Vallejo, CA – a virtually well known city for talent – M-Dash began his career at a young age by performing at talent shows and writing poetry, but his real hustle began when he first began professionally recording as a rapper/hip hop artist in the mid 90’s. A few years later, he grew tired of depending on other people and the businessman in him emerged. He decided to take control of his own destiny and began his own label, Platinum Bound Entertainment. “I wanted to establish something on my own; I figured I could guide my own destiny and learn from my own mistakes…also for my uncle, I want to carry on his legacy”, explains M-Dash.M-Dash’s Music has been recognized in interviews by such highly circulated, national magazines that showcase Bay Area Artists such as Xplosive Magazine, SouthWestBound Magazine, Booty Crack Magazine and RayBay.net, with more on the way.
