| | Julie Doiron Will You Still Love Me CD Julie Doiron Discography of CDs
Julie Doiron's second effort, under her own name, is a powerful, maturing work. The layering of instruments on Will You Still Love Me? surpasses that of Loneliest in the Morning. Guitar parts boost her vocal melodies, while vibes add an ethereal element. The vocals carry the record to great heights. In the power of her voice, there exists a calming feel. The doubling of the vocal tracks creates great harmonies, while use of the syllables of words with power creates wonderful syncopated singing. The guitar picking style sounds like a merry-go-round, starting up and slowing down according to emotion through the music and singing. Many of the songs, like "Will You Still Love Me?," have a middle which sounds as if they were at the end, carrying a sad lingering, then pick-up speed and hope in the lyrics. The endings are beautifully open-ended. "For Me" ends the record with twinkling guitar creating a pulse of tone. The Wurlitzer is added in with the same wonderful element of pure tone as that of the vocals, bass, and guitar. The dueling guitars on the final track are much like that of Dos. ~ David Serra
Recorded at Little Bullhorn, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on January 9, 1999.
Personnel: Julie Doiron (vocals); Julie Beillard (vocals, guitar, bass); Dave Draves (Wurliter piano, vibraphone).

Will You Still Love Me music CDs
$34.35 BOX contains Guided By Voices' first four albums, previously available only on vinyl: DEVIL BETWEEN MY TOES, SANDBOX, SELF-INFLICTED AERIAL NOSTALGIA and SAME PLACE THE FLY GOT SMASHED. Also included is KING SHIT AND THE GOLDEN BOYS, a collection of 19 previously-unreleased songs recorded between 1988 and 1993. The vinyl version of BOX also contains the band's fifth album, PROPELLER, which in CD form is available as part of VAMPIRE ON TITUS.
Most bands don't generate enough material for a five-CD box set in their entire careers, but Guided by Voices didn't break a sweat in collecting this trove. Active in their hometown of Dayton, Ohio since the mid-'80s, Robert Pollard, Jim Pollard, Tobin Sprout, and Mitch Mitchell had recorded over a dozen albums, EPs, and singles before 1994's BEE ...
| | Julie Doiron Heart And Crime CD (2001)
Will You Still Love Me songs
$12.49 Julie Doiron continued to find her musical voice on Heart and Crime, her simplest and most bare-bones effort to date. The subdued mood and lack of fuzz-pedals finally set Doiron on a path apart from her past work in the band Eric's Trip. While her former band often experimented with simple and quiet harmonies on some tracks, the band was defined by their blistering pop sound. Doiron's soft singer/songwriter approach this time around finds her calling upon musician friends to add a wealth of instruments to the recordings, including cymbals, shaker, harmonica, trumpet, and keyboards. The disc followed her collaboration with Canadian band Wooden Stars. That collaboration obviously led to Doiron experimenting with more sophisticated sounds. On "Shivers + Crickets" and "All Their Broken Hearts," her slightly-above-hushed ...

$13.05 Originally released on Sappy Records as BROKEN GIRL by the band Broken Girl.
Jagjaguwar's reissue of Julie Doiron's Broken Girl adds the four-song single Dog Love, Pt. 2 from 1993 and three-song single Nora from 1994 to the album's original running order. When she recorded those two singles she was still a member of Eric's Trip. 1995's Broken Girl was her first post-split record and it a very good one. The songs are all memorable and the melodies are very strong. Doiron's sweet voice, the hushed nature of ...

Will You Still Love Me music CDs
$16.29 This anthology from The Move features 24 tracks spanning the years 1966-72, including "Night of Fear," "I Can Hear the Grass Grow," "Flowers in the Rain," and "Wild Tiger Woman."
One has the marvel at the recent activity surrounding the Move -- from a ten-year period in which the legendary band was scarcely represented on vinyl, we're now at a point where practically every note they ever recorded for release is in print on CD, and there's even a collection of BBC performances as well as a few bootlegs circulating. This 24-song collection concentrates on their single A- and B-sides for Regal Zonophone, Deram, Harvest, Fly, and Ariola. The first 15 songs, from "Night of Fear" to "California Man," are arranged in A-side release order, and tracks 17-23 are devoted to the most relevant of their B-sides. This probably isn't the wisest way to have programmed the disc, ...

2007: the snap-pocket shirts, sideburns, literary leanings and pedal steels of alt-country are simply memories from the '90s. Movement hero and harbinger Jeff Tweedy has led Wilco far from the decade-old roots rock rusticisms of Being There, finding purchase in experimental landscapes dotted with the detritus of modern living. Many have forgotten that Ryan Adams once fronted a marvelous alt-country band called Whiskeytown, as the bedheaded man-child jettisons off into the pop star stratosphere, bouncing from rock to pop to punk to country (again). Not so for Richmond Fontaine, who are led by archetypal old-school-styled alt-country hero Willy Vlautin. The intelligent and slightly shaggy Vlautin, who has published a successful novel (and ...
