Incubus is ready to pave its own way in the modern rock scene. With the brooding and crunchy musical themes of MORNING VIEW, it's almost hard to imagine that the album was written and recorded in the relaxed atmosphere of a California beach house. Drummer Jose Pasillas offers tasty percussive coloring in the breakout single, "Wish You Were Here." The song's trippy verses set against its heavily strummed choruses fits the profile of push-and-pull dynamics that Incubus fans have come to expect. "11am" touches on regret and indecision with some neo-Eastern flavor and Mike Patton-inspired vocalizing by frontman Brandon Boyd. "Float" borrows from traditional Asian music and shows the band's near-fearless spirit of experimentation. MORNING VIEW's most eccentric track is the crafted epic "Just A Phase," whose quirky time signature changes and adventurous arrangement show that Incubus has a great deal more to offer than strategically placed turntable scratches.

| | Incubus Make Yourself CD (1999)
Morning View CD music
$9.59 Take the apocalyptic, electronics-tinged riff-rock of bands like Korn. Subtract the fratboy sensibility and the Red Hot Chili Peppers-derived hip-hop rhythms. Add a sophisticated sense of melody and harmony, a more optimistic lyrical outlook, and a sense of dynamics. You've essentially got the Incubus sound. Incubus practices ...
| | Incubus S.C.I.E.N.C.E. CD (1997) Remastered; Enhanced CD
Morning View music CDs
$7.59 Digitally remastered by Stephen Marcussen (2001, Marcussen Mastering).
While the press and critics jumped over the sounds of Korn, Rage Against the Machine, and Limp Bizkit, Incubus quietly toured in support of S.C.I.E.N.C.E., their first major-label LP. Incubus' hip-hop influences come from their DJ and bassist instead of their singer. Brandon Boyd's vocals hit every range from quiet whispers to funk-styled rants to hard rock screams. He also adds percussion with a bongo on a few songs (and in concert its a strange sight for such a heavy band). Boyd's demeanor in concert and record is laid back and free flowing. There's no anger surrounding his lyrics or his singing. "New Skin" adds a lot of funk to modern heavy ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Morning View songs
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy ...
| | Incubus Crow Left Of The Murder... CD (2004)
Morning View album
$8.19 In 2003, after successfully renegotiating their contract with Epic, Incubus struggled further in parting ways with bassist Dirk Lance. When a proven lineup has a successful chemistry, there is always the danger of tampering with that magic when a personnel change occurs. Luckily, Incubus dodged that bullet and struck gold with four-stringer Ben ...

| | Toog Lou Etendue CD (2004)
Morning View album
$13.45 Toog's third album is actually both a collaboration and an inspired idea brought to life -- as Toog himself described it, he drew the idea of Lou Etendue from the work of French poet and World War I victim Guilliaume Apollinaire, combined with how he felt open meeting actress and film director Asia Argento around the time of the 9/11 disaster. With Argento contributing some singing and lyrics and Apollinaire's work providing the lyrics to "Les 9 Portes," Toog also brought fellow French musician Digiki on board as co-producer, resulting in a strikingly electronic/pop ...

Morning View songs
$18.99 When it comes to music, Karen can't remember a time when she didn't absolutely love every aspect of it. As a toddler she would sit at the piano and peck out songs she'd heard either at church or on the radio. Her solo debut came out of fear...her sister's. At the last minute her sister refused to go on stage and Karen stepped right up and filled the gap. Karen began writing songs at a very young age. Her mom encouraged her to take piano lessons but that was short lived due to the fact that playing by ear was a lot easier than practicing scales...a choice she regrets even to this day!Karen continued writing and singing all the way through college. In 1990, after graduating from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, she made plans to move to Nashville. Yet "many are a man's plans, but the Lord determines his path." Indeed God was leading Karen, but not to Nashville. He wanted her in Texas... Midland, Texas. Midland held more than just a job for Karen, it held a brand new life. She met her husband, Burt, at a mutual friend's wedding and got married on Christmas night at her home in 1993. She spent the next 6 years teaching 6th grade language arts and singing at the church she and her husband attended. In 1999, her 1st of two children was born and Karen quit teaching to raise a family. She also became actively involved in a new church start where she sang on the praise team and played keyboards for the praise band. In 2000, she entered a songwriting contest held in Nashville and was chosen as one of four finalists. More and more opportunities came for Karen to share her music, not only at her new church but at the women's Community Bible Study where she led the praise and worship.Encouraged by the reception, Karen decided to record her ...
