awesome acting and script I REALLY ENJOYED GLENGARRY GLENROSS THE SCENES THE ACTING WAS SUPERB I ALSO MAY BE A LITTLE PARTIAL BECAUSE I AM A SALESMAN AND UNDERSTAND THE PREMISS.THUMBS UP AND BRAVO. By SAMCLARK23 (BRUNSWICK,GA)
All Star Cast Delivers Powerful Performances Originally written for the stage, David Mammet adapted his play for the screen by dialing up the tension by adding the Alec Baldwin character to the screen version. If you are put off by language, watch Snow White instead because these real estate-selling salesmen are under a lot of pressure and let off a lot of steam with four-letter words. I think the only female charcher is the coat-check girl at the restaurant. See if you can figure out who stole the new prospects. This has been compared to Death of a Salesman and won't make you want to enter the sales field. But if you are in sales, you'll probably love the motivational speech at the beginning. A sample: "My watch is worth more than your car!" By a reviewer (Waco, TX, USA)
one of the all-time great casts Jack Lemmon, we miss you and you were incredible in this film. Alec Baldwin and Kevin Spacey play lean and mean, and you'll love watching them, while hating them. Al Pacino is at his best and his scene with Lemmon (Shelly the machine Levine)at the end is a classic. Then there's the downtrodden characters played by Arkin and Harris. Wow, this movie will ring true forever, as will the impeccable performances. By Scott (Helena, Montana)
The Definitive Mamet _Glengarry Glen Ross_, boasting superb performances from superb actors, is the definitive Mamet play on celluloid. Although it includes a great deal of profanity, the dialogue eventually metamorphoses into a kind of urban poetry, the impact of which is reminiscent of Scorsese's _Raging Bull_, and the novels of Elmore Leonard or Tom Wolfe. A tribute to the talents of both Al Pacino and Jack Lemmon, as well as a must-see for all lovers of the play-turned-film. By a reviewer (Madison, MS, USA)
A must have for your CD collection. Jack Lemon: Always the consummate actor with the support of one of the greatest bodies of actors in a single movie. Not for those with aversion to profanity. By llarrylu (san francisco)
