A great version of Machine Gun, almost 23 minutes long and outstanding version of Red House with the famous Flying V Guitar make this historic performance worth the wait. At the end, last song, In from the Storm, Jimi throws down his guitar in disgust, but what a performance however.

 Jimi returns to Europe for the last time
A rather dark film that looks like Jimi Hendrix is sleep walking through. From the book that have been written, It seem he back to his bad habits after spemding a pure and refreshing vacation in Hawaii. Mitch was with him till the end, and he provided the energy, and familiarity of material. As far as camera quality, I'm not an authority on equipment, but camera angles that involved Billy Cox or the whole band would've been a plus. I only enjoyed it because I cherish all of Jimi Hendrix's music, but when he played the crowd favorite "Hey Joe," it seemed a sad rememberance to a happier time in his life....WHO KNOWS?

 Not Jimi's best
Other than the complete "at Woodstock", this is the only full length performance of a Jimi Hendrix concert on DVD. This dvd has most of the songs he played, the missing ones apparently were not filmed or had technical problems, but are on the cd set. It has good picture and sound quality for the time. People vary on their opinion of this Hendrix show. I have always felt overall, this is sub par Jimi Hendrix, not that it's bad, but in comparison to the "Live at Winterland" and "The Jimi Hendrix Concerts" cd's, it pales. It has some good moments, but it isn't hard to hear that Jimi is not "on" for this show. The Woodstock DVD is better. Jimi is more into it and plays much better than here (compare the 2 versions of "Voodoo Child" if you need proof). I also think the dvd of The Who's performance at Isle of wight was better than this Experience dvd. Not to say I think Pete Townshend is a better gutarist, but the Who as a whole played stronger at this gig than the Experience did. However it is the last documented Hendrix performance and so has historical significance...he died a few weeks later. Fans uncritical of all things Jimi will still want it. Fans looking for his best performance available on DVD might do better with the Woodstock show.

 Good Listening
Out of all the Jimi Hendrix DVD's, this one has the best video quality. The laid back approach Jimi takes in pre-forming all his concerts is great. This is the first time the band had played together in 6 months and you often times see Jimi yelling what song to play next off the top of his head to his bandmates. All the preformances are great. The only complaint as with most Jimi Hendrix dvd's is that the camera men are stupid. As a guitar player i like to watch Jimi Hendrix play the guitar. Often time for 40 seconds or more the camera will be zoomed right on his face or behind the neck of the guitar, usually during the best parts. Other than that's it's well worth 10 bucks.
